    Stan Witten

Witten created the Early Canada design, struck on both the 1-Kilo Gold and Silver Coins (2007).

Born in Alberta, Stan Witten's passion for art and engraving flourished under the direction of Dutch artist John Vanderbrink. In 1990, Witten joined the Royal Canadian Mint, beginning an in-house apprenticeship programme that he completed in 1994.

Now a senior engraver, Witten's designed a number of Canadian coins including the extraordinary 2001 $300 Harlequin Ducks Platinum Four-Coin Set and the elegant 2003 SML Coloured Maple Leaves Coin. His sculpture and design work is also displayed on the general circulation coinage of Uganda.
