The dreamcatcher is an iconic identifying symbol of First Nations culture. Variations of dreamcatchers are representative of cultures across each Canadian province, but they all have the same intention: to trap bad dreams and thoughts, and let good dreams pass through the hole at the web's centre, into the mind of the dreamer.
Your coin unites First Nations tradition with modern-day technology: a dreamcatcher set against a shiny holographic field. With a limited mintage of 10,000, ensure you get yours today!
• Your coin is a unique work of art! Rare theme brings together ancient First Nations heritage and modern technology.
• Your amazing coin combines two technologies: a coloured central image and a hologram background.
• Certified 99.99% pure silver—GST/HST exempt.
• Limited mintage of 10,000.
Your coin's design is inspired by Canadian artist Darlene Gait and features a stunning full-colour dreamcatcher over a hologram of the sky with clouds. Composed of an external bent wood ring strung with an interior web of golden sinew, the dreamcatcher features bright blue quartz stones and a central opal; it bottom strung with rawhide ribbons decorated with red beads, and four orange and white wild bird feathers. The reverse is engraved with the word "CANADA," the date "2013" and the face value of "10 DOLLARS."
Your coin is encapsulated and presented in a Royal Canadian Mint-branded maroon clamshell case lined with flock and protected by a black sleeve.
This coin is a thoughtful gift and beautiful addition to any collection featuring Aboriginal art and culture.
