Canada is home to a rich biodiversity, with different ecosystems that support a vast number of animal species. The Royal Canadian Mint's series of small pure gold coins proudly showcases some of Canada's smaller animal residents—including the smallest member of the rabbit family, the pika.
A wonderful and affordable way to start a gold coin collection! Order yours today!

Special features:
•   Your 99.99% pure gold coin is the third in our best-selling series of 11-millimetre gold coins.
•   As the smallest member of the rabbit family, the pika (or rock rabbit) is a natural fit for the Royal Canadian Mint's series of smallest pure gold coins!
•   Measuring just 11 millimetres in diameter, this 25-cent coin is 99.99% pure gold.
•   Your coin is GST/HST exempt with a limited worldwide mintage.

Coin design:
Despite the coin's small size, this side-profile portrait of a pika, as designed by Canadian artist
Derek C. Wicks, captures the mammal's soft features and expression in exquisite detail. Inquisitively peering up to the right, the pika is poised with its front paws leaning against a loose pile of rocks that line the slopes of the Canadian Rockies. Masterful engraving recreates this timid creature's prominent, rounded ears as well as the fur that covers its stocky little body and face.

Packaging:
Your coin is encapsulated and presented in a maroon clamshell case lined with flock and protected by a black Royal Canadian Mint box.

            Comments about 0.5 g Pure Gold Coin - Rock Rabbit - Mintage: 10000 (2015):

I actually quite liked this coin. I was, of course, disappointed at the size but there you go. I don't think I would feel good about gifting it for a special occasion such as a wedding, anniversary or adult birthday (simply because it is small and may come across as a 'tiny', possibly insignificant gift). Yup,in these cases size can matter.

I'm not sure if I would recommend this to a friend or not, neither am I sure if it is good value for money - I just don't really keep good track of the price of 'precious' metals.
