A WORLD FIRST! This glow-in-the-dark coin is made UNIQUE with its own piece of art!

There’s a universe of wonders crafted into this coin, starting with the way silver dust swirls together with a variety of borosilicate colored glass pieces to re-create an image of the universe. Every coin has its own unique swirl and each one is captured in a globule of borosilicate glass that has been handcrafted and applied to the coin. The glass was also given added luminescence to capture the faint glow of the galaxy—a stunning effect!

A gorgeous gift for someone you know who loves star gazing. Order today before they’re all gone!

Special features:
•  WORLD’S FIRST! Your coin features a combination of color and glow paint along with a specially selected borosilicate fine art coloured glass that also glows in the dark!
•  EACH GLASS PIECE IS A UNIQUE PIECE OF ART! Your coin is crafted with a swirl of silver dust to create an image of the universe that is one-of-a-kind.
•  ADDED LUMINESCENCE IN THE COLORED SKY CAPTURES THE FAINT GLOW OF THE GALAXY! A stunning effect that also shines from some of the stars.
•  A unique celebration of Canada’s status as the first nation to possess an officially recognized dark sky reserve, a distinction that is a source of pride for Quebecers, particularly those living in the blackout region of Mont-Mégantic.
•  Your coin is GST/HST exempt.

About the Design:
Canadian artist Loïc Beaumont-Tremblay has re-created the forested setting of the Observatoire du Mont-Mégantic beneath a clear, star-filled sky. A globule of borosilicate glass shines with a stunning image of the universe. The round, crystal-clear qualities of the glass are similar to peering through a telescope lens, and its luminescence further enhances the viewer’s experience of gazing into the galaxy.

Packaging:
Your coin is encapsulated and presented in a Royal Canadian Mint-branded maroon clamshell with a black beauty box.

Neat concept but needs further design consideration. The glass sits like a blob on the coin looking more like a weekend market afterthought rather than being seen as a wholistic piece. Would have been nice to see the glass embedded in the coin itself. Nevertheless still neat to look and have as part of a collection as it hasn't been done before. It doesn't glow in the dark no matter how much you try.

I have been an amateur astronomer for over 40 years. When I opened the box and looked at my coin, my mind immediately thought of Messier 51 or the M51 spiral galaxy located in the Constellation of Canes Venatici. The coin I rec'd looks very similar to that particular astronomical object. My thanks go out to the artist who meticulously created this image using this borosilicate glass. This coin is stunning visually and the overall look is nothing short of amazing. Workmanship is top notch. I have the 2nd in the series and will be very pleased to receive the 3rd. It even sparkles like the stars in the heavens.

You can barely see the fluorescent light. Do not trust the picture it shows in the dark. Idea is great, but the quality is bad

This new "STARGAZING" series appears to be off to a very good start with this first issue, "The Universe". I like when collector coins have inserts of stones or other natural minerals added on the coin. These make each one a bit different from others of the same type. The subtle variations in the inserted/attached material make each coin unique. Such is the case with the borosilicate glass attachments on these issues. Looking forward to the following releases in this series.
