BIG Thumbs Up for the Big Coin Series

5

I just received my second coin, the quarter, in the Big Coin Series along with the wooden box. This series is absolutely stunning. Seeing the set of coins start to come together in a beautiful wooden box with the Loonie that shipped a few months ago is very impressive. By celebrating the eye-catching design of our circulation coins, enhanced with the selective gold plating, the Big Coins are artistic masterpieces. I can't wait to have all 6 coins. This will certainly become the showcase of my collection. With the low 1500 mintage of each coin and the limit of 350 sets, I predict that this will be a highly sought after grouping of Canadian memorabilia and a family keepsake. Kudos to the RCM!

What makes this set a collectors dream: 1. extremely low mintage at 1,500 for the world 2. set subscription now sold out 3. the return on this investment will pay out more than interest on some RRSP plans 4. superior quality A great investment for the future. I anticipate this set will almost double in price from issue by the end of next year.

Was disappointed that missed out on this as a Masters Club member. Must have sold out in a day or less. However, just found the set subscription at the issue price on a well known shopping network. Who would have thought?

Finally a Worthy Collection

It's been 2 years since the Mint came out with a series that is truly unique and Canadian. The last one being the "Group of Seven" series, which is still my favourite. And with only 350 sets available for subscription, it will made the 6 coins collection w/ wooden box more valuable. I might even say it is something worthy to pass down my family. Granted it is a bit expensive. But I always consider Canada's circulation coins one of the most beautiful in the world. And I couldn't recall any mint in the world has created such a big coin series for their circulation coins. So I think it is well worth the high price. I couldn't comment on the craftsmanship yet, since I haven't received the coin. But I am very much looking forward to receiving it.

Cool Coins!

When the Mint issued a silver penny with gold plating in 2012, I bought this and it was really attractive. This Big Coin set looks even more impressive, with a very large five ounce size. What a cool set! I am looking forward to receiving all six coins so I can have the complete 2015 year set together. This is also going to be a scarce item with the really low mintage. What a great set.

This is a true "WOW" Coin!

5

I think I was one of the lucky few to get one of this low mintage coins direct from the Mint. I am awaiting delivery of this coin, but I was at Canadian Coin & Currency in Toronto (Richmond Hill) today, and I saw the coin on display, in stock, and available for purchase. The coin was so impressive that I decided to buy a second set. The loon coin is an absolute "WOW". It is in fact BIG, and the contrast with the gold on silver is really striking. With a mintage of just 1500, this is also likely to be one that will go up in value. It is sometimes frustrating when a coin sells out too fast, but it is also what makes some of these coins scarce and valuable. I can't wait to get the next coin in this set.

A magnificent looking set of coins

5

Although other reviewers rated this set low because of the early sell out, the coins are magnificent. Part of the value for me is the low mintage!. I procrastinated for 24 hours and found the set was sold out at the mint, but happily have ordered them from another seller at the same price. I truly look forward to receiving the entire set.

SO EXCITED WITH THIS BIG COIN SERIES.

5

I am so excited with this new "BIG COIN" series that I subscribed right away to ensure that I would receive the whole collection. These coins are so, so "OH CANADA" and will be a wonderful addition because of the low mintage! They will definitely be a good investment and all the coins are marked with the year "2015". Kudos to the RCM! Love, love this set.
