Design:

Designed by Canadian artist Lisa Thomson-Khan, your coin captures a quiet moment in nature, with an image that inspires quiet reflection and a stirring of pride. A sparkling, red-coloured drusy stone is positioned at the centre, where its maple leaf-shaped outline immediately catches the eye. Carried by the autumn breeze, this maple leaf has come to rest on the ground, where a scattering of engraved maple leaves lie among the various shaped rocks and stones. The crystal-encrusted stone sparkles in the natural light, while the use of multiple finishes throughout the engraved backdrop ensures no detail will go unnoticed. The reverse includes the engraved word "CANADA" and the year "2017". The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.

Packaging:

Your coin is encapsulated and presented in a Royal Canadian Mint-branded maroon clamshell with a black beauty box.

Reviews

Poor quality. Painted crystals. Incorrect product spec.

The drusy quartz on the coins I received was painted and all natural beauty of the stone was ruined. The small facets of the drusy crystals are not shiny/no small sparkles of the crystals because of red lacquer (paint). Mint specification states: Only a very small portion of fine drusy quartz has the rich red tones selected for your coin—each is unique! There is nothing unique on the coin except the high price. Mint sent me replacement coins three times. I finely got explanation from customer service after the number of complains that the drusy maple leaves were hand dyed red to commemorate the fall motif of the design because this colour is not found in natural drusy. It's very sad that RCM destroyed the unique series of drusy coins style by poor quality of the third coin.

A perfect Fall presentation

As noted in the comments, this is perfect presentation for matching our brilliant Fall colours here in New Brunswick. As well, it makes an end piece with the bright green Spring one issued earlier. Nice choices!

Gorgeous Coin... looks way better in person

The coin design is unique in itself ! The Druzy really stands out as this stunning bright Canadian red and evokes a sense of patriotism. I have the other birch leaf druzi coin as well and together they make a perfect pair ! I already recommend it to friends and two separate families have bought it as well and are very happy with it .

i like most of the coin series that you put out but i bit much on the maple leaf. it's getting to be overdone. give it a rest for a while. you have so much talent producing the designs i feel that they are being wasted on the one topic

Please explain me why drusy quarts is painted? The description of the coin states: Only a very small portion of fine drusy quartz has the rich red tones selected for your coin-each is unique! The drusy quartz on the coins I received was painted and all natural beauty of the stone was ruined. The small facets of the drusy crystals are not shiny/no small sparkles of the crystals because of red lacquer (paint). I found (using magnifying glass) that some specks of dust and hear on the top of the crystal were painted with red color as well. I have already got three replacement coins with the same issue. The high price is may be good for the product with unique crystal, but for the fake red colored-is just very overpriced.

Hello and thank you for your comments. This year the drusy maple leaves were hand dyed red to commemorate the fall motif of the design and also for Canada's 150th celebration. This colour is not found in natural drusy and is part of the colour process therefor variation will occur from stone to stone. I hope this helps explain the look of your hand cut and coloured drusy stone. Thanks, Erica

Explain tp me why a 1 oz silver coin is worth $162 again?

Ara

Hello and thank you for your question. There are many special features about this coin which contributes to the retail price of this coin, including a newly reduced mintage and individually hand cut and polished red maple leaves. Thank you
