A WORLD FIRST! A delta-shaped coin! Order today!

No strangers to time distortions, engine shutdowns, transporter malfunctions and even hostile takeovers, the U.S.S Enterprise (NCC-1701) and her crew exemplified resilience in the face of adversity. Their encounters with "new life and new civilizations" stirred the imaginations of Canadians young and old, while their acts of courage, compassion and diplomacy typified humanity's noble ideals—both in their time and ours.

Star Trek and its hopeful vision for our future are represented by a powerful symbol: the delta-shaped Starfleet insignia worn by all U.S.S Enterprise personnel, including Captain James T. Kirk (played by Canadian actor William Shatner). This iconic emblem is widely recognized, even beyond the realm of fandom; it embodies hope for a future where humanity has come together as one, where we are part of a broader community that stretches across the stars. For many fans, the insignia serves as a powerful visual reminder of just how far our imaginations could take us, and much of what we can aspire to learn and become.

This coin will be the centerpiece of your display for years to come! Order today!

Special Features:
  • Take the helm with this Starfleet Command insignia—part of our 50th anniversary of the Star Trek television series, which is beloved by many Canadians and credited with inspiring innovation in our time!
  • A WORLD FIRST! This is the world's first delta-shaped coin: Unique engraving techniques recreate the smooth, arrowhead-shaped insignia that has become associated with the U.S.S Enterprise, Starfleet, and the Star Trek universe!
  • The past meets the present—and the future: Cutting-edge technology recreates a classic design to produce a truly timeless collectible.
  • Crafted from 99.99% pure gold with a very low mintage—a one-of-a-kind collectible that will shine in your collection.
  • An official licensed product approved by CBS Studios.
  • Your coin is GST/HST exempt!

Design:

Detailed engraving and contrasting finishing instill this unusually shaped coin with an inspiring, nostalgic feel. Its arrowhead shape mimics that of the iconic Delta Shield Insignia, which was worn by the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise and became the identifying emblem of Starfleet.

Did you know…
  • In The Original Series, each ship and installation had their own assignment patches. The Starfleet insignia is the Enterprise's patch, which was later adopted by Starfleet and worn by all members in recognition of the crew's five-year mission.
  • A different Starfleet insignia was featured in the episodes Charlie X and The Omega Glory.
  • The U.S.S Enterprise falls under the authority of Starfleet, which is itself under the authority of the United Federation of Planets.
  • Early episodes referenced United Earth Space Probe Agency (UESPA) (Charlie X, Tomorrow Is Yesterday) before Starfleet was established as the authority in command of the Enterprise (Court Martial). Other terms included Star Service (The Conscience of the King), Spacefleet Command (The Squire of Gothos) and even Space Central (Miri).
  • Starfleet's responsibilities include exploration, research, defence in space and diplomacy.
  • During first contacts, Starfleet officers have the authority to act as official representatives of the Federation.

Unbelievably detailed - "unique" would be an understatement

It is a beautiful piece of art work, of which I take great delight in admiring daily. Was a bit smaller than I anticipated, but it is, after all, pure gold. I am completely satisfied with this purchase, a phrase I've not used before.

Unique Shape coin

The shape of the gold coin is very unique but the face design is not attractive, probably because the coin is too small to allow for a more complex design.

A very unique collectible

Such a unique coin - and a unique collectible. I would have preferred a slightly thinner coin with more surface area - it's not going to come out of its case too often, anyway. Very pleased with the purchase.

I don't think any of these will get a PF70 from NGC. The mint it seems can't get this shape manufactured without flaws. All four of mine seem to have a very slight off strike along the long edge. All the graded coins I have seen so far are PF69 so probably no 70s. The coin should have been at least one once to get the size larger. Otherwise beautiful coin design and unique.

Couldn't be happier about this coin - the shape is extremely unique and great for Star Trek fans, and the low mintage makes it extremely desirable and collectable.

Defect

Every real photo I see of this coin has a similar defect around the short tail/corner under "2016" on the reverse side. The capsules also tend to get very scratched up on the inside when shipped due to the odd shape and wire edge.

Has this already been offered for sale and sold out? Intitially, the wording on the Mint's website implied (to me, anyway) that "awaiting stock" meant that it hadn't been put on sale yet, but now I'm reading reports on other sites that it has indeed been on sale. And what's worse, there were no limits put on purchases at the beginning? I've heard reports of people succesfully ordering as many as 5 of those, no doubt to scalp later on. Personally, I'm not at all happy with the shoddy handling of this sale by the Mint, and personally I'm considering cancelling my remaining Star Trek orders and taking advantage of your 15 day return policy to offload those you've already sent me.

Andrew

Andrew, Thank you for your feedback - we will share this information within the organization so that we may better serve you in the future.
