An unforgettable gift for a loved one to mark a special event or occasion! Order today!

Special features:
  • Timeless and elegant, this popular rose is brought to life in exquisite detail thanks to precision engraving and a superb artistic design.
  • ROSE GOLD PLATING! Using gold plating, your coin recreates the distinctive colour of the blooms that captures beauty and essence.
  • 99.99% PURE SILVER! The selective plating strikes a colourful contrast against the silver surface of the coin, which is crafted from 99.99% pure silver.
  • Your coin is GST/HST exempt!

About the Design:

Designed by Canadian artist Claudio D'Angelo, your coin features two open blooms of the Queen Elizabeth rose variety. Timeless and elegant, the highly detailed design conveys much of the rose's delicate beauty through the meticulous engraving, which gives the image its life-like quality. The use of rose gold plating technology on the two blooms further adds to the artistry by representing the Queen Elizabeth rose's distinctive pink colour, allowing this majestic floral beauty to stand out against the silver background.

Did you know…
  • The Queen Elizabeth rose is a cross between the Charlotte Armstrong hybrid tea rose and the Floradora floribunda rose, and was introduced in 1954.
  • It was the first to be classified as a grandiflora rose, a category that was created specifically for it; this class is not universally recognized, meaning that the Queen Elizabeth rose is sometimes classified as a floribunda.
  • There is a climbing variety known as Climbing Queen Elizabeth, but it isn't as free-flowering as the Queen Elizabeth.
  • An easy-going rose, it continues to be one of the most popular roses in the world due to its lightly scented, long-stemmed blooms that are perfect for cutting!

In Canada, one of the most important qualities any plant can possess is versatility, and the Queen Elizabeth rose has it in spades. The rose bush can grow to 1.3 metres high, and the pink roses themselves are medium-sized, with clusters of high-centred buds and blooms of 26 to 40 petals. It requires minimal upkeep—just a little pruning and a lot of space—in order to grow strong, making it an excellent addition to any sunny garden. Queen Elizabeth roses are truly hardy yet beautiful—a combination of traits that exemplify Canada itself.

Packaging:

Your coin is encapsulated and presented in a Royal Canadian Mint-branded maroon clamshell with a black beauty box.

Thank you for your question. The colour of the gold is considered to be rose-coloured. The image has been updated with a photograph and to get a sense of the real colour, the video should offer some more detail.

Most of our coins do not feature the amount of silver on the face of the coin. The amount of silver will be denoted in the certificate of authenticity which comes with the coin.

Thank you for your question. The gold used is considered to be of a rose (pinkish) hue and colour. The video is now up, which should better indicate the colour of the selective gold plating used.
