About the Design:

Your coin's extraordinary design captures the beauty of a silver maple leaf in all its autumn splendour. The wavy, irregular nature of the leaf's edge and the curved sinuses between its palmate lobes are painstakingly replicated through a labour-intensive process, which gives the coin its distinctive shape. Intricate detailing on the reverse brings it all to life, with veins running through the three upper lobes and the two smaller basal lobes. The full application of vibrant colour recreates the brilliant array of red, yellow and orange colours that are famously associated with the silver maple leaf on an autumn day in Canada.

Your coin is presented in a special maple leaf shaped dark stained wooden case complete with a viewing window in the lid, allowing for this symbol of Canadian pride to be displayed and viewed at any time.

Comments about Pure Silver Coloured Coin – The Canadian Maple Leaf (2016):

Unique shape and great autumn color. However display wooden casing should be made from maple instead of oak timber. The item is also quite pricey for an ounce of silver.

Comments about Pure Silver Coloured Coin – The Canadian Maple Leaf (2016):

I love silver! Most of my collection is orientated to military coins as I had served in the Canadian Army. What drew me to this coin though was the unique shape. I've worn the maple leaf around the world with pride and this coin captures the essence of that pride. I'm not one to purchase the coloured coins as I truly love the pure silver look. In this case though I made an exception. The display case works wonders and I was willing to pay the price for this coin. In the future my grandson will receive all of my collection and I'm certain that he to will appreciate the beauty of this coin. Well done to the Royal Canadian Mint.

                      • Q:

Forgive my ignorance, but what are the two metal pegs that can be screwed into the lower back of the wooden display case for? I see there is a hole in the back (top) where you can hang the display box on the wall, but what is the purpose of having the metal pegs in the back, bottom, of the display box suppose to be. I understand that they would raise the box away from the wall (if so displayed), but then the square form that holds the encapsulated coin would fall out of the wooden display box. Same if it were displayed on a flat or tilted surface. For the life of me, I can not figure out the significance for having the pegs screwed in ?????? Perhaps it's time for this old man to be taken out back in the winter and left for wolf/coyote food. Life's full circle is complete! ;^) NO, you can't have my coin! Thank you in advance for any clarification that anybody may be able to provide.

                          A:

There are 2 threaded holes in the back of the case that the 2 pegs can be screwed into to support the case as a stand-up display. For those that don't want to hang the case on a wall, this allows the coin to be displayed on a shelf or flat surface
