Director, Product Strategy and Management

    Reporting to the Vice-President, Marketing & Communications, the Director, Product Strategy and Management plays a highly visible and cross-functional role leading the product strategy and product management for the RCM.  This role has responsibilities for overall strategic and P&L management of the RCM product portfolio down to the contribution margin level.  The incumbent will work closely with the Engineering, R&D, Sales and Marketing teams, playing an integral, strategic role up to the overall go-to-market strategy for each product and will be accountable to drive the expected revenue growth for the RCM products.  The incumbent is responsible for leading a team of approximately 20 people.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Set product strategy and direction and define both long term strategy and short term plans to achieve the product vision and deliver on the business results. Engage stakeholders to align on clear, actionable product strategy and priorities to deliver optimal results for customers and RCM business.
    • Define a well-articulated product roadmap and requirements for the current and future products leveraging analytical data, market and customer feedbacks and trends.  Ensure the market competition assessment to compare RCM's products to competitors' products. Understand customers and their purchase behavior and motivation
    • Develop comprehensive product plans, incorporating market requirements & customer needs, define the competitive arena, and establish the objectives, strategies, and actions required to achieve business goals. 
    • Analyze new product requirements and develop product programs from product value proposition, product positioning, pricing, promotion and channel strategy and prepare return-on-investment analysis.
    • Determine effective product pricing strategy by utilizing market research data and customer segmentation, developing pricing models, reviewing production, sales and marketing costs, anticipating volume and costing special and customized products and orders.
    • Provide information for management by preparing short-term and long-term product sales forecast, business cases and special reports and analyses.
    • Facilitate inventory turnover and product availability by reviewing and adjusting inventory levels and establishing time schedules with manufacturing
    • Develop with marketing a company-wide go-to-market plan for the product line, working with all business units to execute the plans.
    • Turn value proposition into effective sales enablement materials including sales sheets and collector stories supporting marketing content.
    • Define positioning, packaging, operational requirements, and pricing of products.
    • Manage the product lifecycle performance by conducting extensive numerical analysis of product performance using company sales, channel, customer and product data on regular basis and proactively propose mitigation strategy if required
    • Deliver world-class innovation in features, usability and product performance in consistent cadence of releases.
    • Analyze potential partner relationships for a product, and effectively manage key partnerships to ensure the successful delivery of the product plan.
    • Lead a team of product managers by ensuring that performance objectives are defined and aligned with operational plans, monitoring their achievements and providing timely feedback.
    • Manage a cross-functional process for prioritizing, delivering and launching product releases.  Ensure plans are integrated with sales, marketing and production.
    • Assure quality standards are being met and that legal documentation requirements are satisfied.
    • Lead, develop and monitor appropriate KPI's to track product performance and conduct post-mortem sessions to build on what worked best and identify areas for improvement.

    Requirements:

    • University degree (Master's degree preferred) in Business, Marketing, Product management or a related discipline
    • Minimum of 10 years of B2C product management and development role
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience as a director-level management
    • Bilingual (English and French) mandatory
    • Strong tracked records and business experience in product development and management, including pricing, sales forecast, planning, P&L management, consumer market, customer segmentation, market and competition analysis resulting in exceeded business targets
    • Superior business acumen with experience developing key strategies at a product line, business unit and corporate levels.
    • Ability to synthesize market and customer feedbacks and existing and new products performance into solutions to drive growth
    • Expertise in customer segment and metric driven approach and high level of competence in data analysis
    • Expertise in delivering complex projects to meet demanding feature, cost, quality and introduction date targets
    • Strong planning, written and verbal communication skills including strong presentation capabilities
    • Strong sense of ownership and accountability as well as dedication to accomplish goals and succeed.
    • Ability to influence, collaborate effectively and lead executives and other cross-functional team members around the business to get to a consensus on roadmap and deliverables.
