Protective Services Officer (Casual) - 3 Positions

    Under supervision and within the policies and procedures of the Royal Canadian Mint, in a teamwork type of operation, protect life, property and assets of the Royal Canadian Mint; conduct preventive patrols; provide threat and risk analysis; control and monitor access of pedestrian and vehicular traffic flows within the Mint premises; enforce security policy and regulations; respond to emergency situations, including fire and medical emergencies in accordance to established and recognised emergency plans and procedures; prepare and submit reports.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education and Previous Experience
    : College diploma in Security Management (minimum 1 year) or related fields and previous security or law enforcement experience.   Must have valid possession acquisition firearms license.  Must have a valid First Aid and CPR certificate.

    Knowledge: Knowledge of security and emergency procedures; knowledge in accident prevention and safety; investigative techniques; crisis intervention; contingency planning and disaster planning; knowledge in threat and risk assessment and problem solving.

    Abilities: Demonstrative ability to conduct security surveys, threat and risk assessments, incident reports; develop and implement security and crime prevention programs; co-ordinate the conduct of security and emergency awareness programs.

    Skills: Demonstrated skills in security and crime prevention programs, investigative techniques, First Aid & CPR; use of force and firearms safety; conduct of oral and written security briefings and reports; good communications and interpersonal skills. Bilingual (English and French) - preferred but not essential. 

    Compulsory pre-requisite requirements: Must be available to work shift work 24/7 and on call
    basis. Candidates must successfully complete RCM's psychological testing.
