    Reporting to the Manager, Ottawa Production Operations, the Supervisor, Production is responsible supervising and directing a team of employees in the RCM production facility by exhibiting leadership and coaching qualities. The incumbent will be tasked with continuously improving the safety of the work environment and improving the quality of our products while balancing the need to achieve business objectives. The incumbent is responsible for leading a team of approximately 30 people.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Manage employees in the production section, ensuring that production schedule is achieved while meeting quality and safety standards.
    • Liaise with Planning section to ensure that production plan is in line with business objectives.
    • Develop employee schedules to achieve optimal equipment utilization and ensure efficient flow of materials in and out of production.
    • Motivate employees through interpersonal interactions on a regular basis, monitoring, fostering creativity, innovation and empowerment.  Promote a positive and professional work environment.
    • Lead change and improvement initiatives, utilizing lean principles to improve efficiency.
    • Communicate objectives, goals and operational policies to employees.  
    • Continuously manage priorities, monitor status, and provide required reports to management.
    • Maintain a safe workplace complying with all regulatory requirements and RCM policies.
    • Collaborate with Quality section to ensure production is compliant with quality standards. Follow-up on necessary corrective actions to ensure improvements are successful.
    • Regularly review key performance indicators and variances and take action as appropriate.
    • Manage employee attendance and discipline as necessary.


    • College Diploma or Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience;
    • Minimum of 5 years of related business experience;
    • Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience in manufacturing environment (preferably unionized workforce);
    • Experience in modern manufacturing techniques (lean principles) in a leadership capacity;
    • Bilingualism is essential;
    • Knowledge of applicable legislation and standards (Labour Code – employment, workplace health & safety, environmental);
    • Ability to lead, train and motivate employees;
    • Must possess excellent leadership skills in change adoption, change management;
    • Strong interpersonal skills to work with other functional groups, and external parties;
    • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and profitability;
    • Ability to clearly, concisely and accurately convey communications;
    • Ability to make decisions with sound judgment and execute on decisions with quantifiable results;
    • Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload while paying attention to detail;
    • Strong Microsoft Office skills. Advanced Excel ability.
