James B. Love

James B. Love

Biography
James B. Love, QC, is a partner in the law firm Love & Whalen in Toronto Ontario. He holds a Master of Laws and Bachelor of Laws from Osgoode Hall Law School, and a Bachelor of Arts from McGill University. Since 2002, he has served as chairman and chief executive officer of Legacy Private Trust. He was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1992. He has practiced in the areas of federal and provincial income, sales and other taxes, acquisitions, mergers and corporate reorganizations. Mr. Love's professional memberships include the Law Society of Upper Canada and the Canadian Bar Association. He resides in Islington, Ontario. First appointed to the Mint's Board of Directors on October 30, 2006, Mr. Love is Chair of the Governance and Nominating Committee and served as Vice-Chairman of the Board.

Mr. Love was appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors on April 23, 2009 for a five-year term.

Ian Bennett

Biography
Ian E. Bennett was appointed President and CEO of the Royal Canadian Mint on June 12, 2006. A distinguished federal public servant, Mr. Bennett has held several positions within the Department of Finance including Deputy Minister from November 2004 to June 2006. Previously, he served as Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund representing Canada, Ireland and the Caribbean countries from September 2001 to October 2004. Mr. Bennett has also held other senior positions within the federal government including Associate Deputy Minister of Finance and G-7 Deputy for Canada from 1998 to 2001, Associate Deputy Minister of Revenue Canada and Deputy Secretary to the Cabinet (Operations). Born in Nelson, British Columbia, he holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (First Class Honours Economics/Commerce) from Simon Fraser University and a Masters of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Toronto.

Keith Meagher

Biography
Keith Meagher holds a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from the Nova Scotia Technical College. In 1984, he joined Lehigh Inland Cement Limited in Edmonton as the production superintendent. Since then, he has held several positions within the company, most recently as Manager of Technical Support which he held until his retirement in December 2004. At the time of his retirement, Mr. Meagher was co-chair of the company's Community Liaison Committee. He resides in St. Albert, Alberta. Mr. Meagher was appointed to the Mint's Board of Directors on June 23, 2005.

Ghislain Harvey

Biography
Ghislain Harvey is currently the Executive Vice President and General Manager of Promotion Saguenay Inc. From 1997 to 2002, he successively occupied the position of Head of Municipal Administration for La Baie, Chicoutimi and Saguenay. Prior to this, he was elected as Dubuc's Member of Parliament for the National Assembly (1973-1977). He has a Bachelor's of Human Sciences from l'Université du Québec à Chicoutimi and he is a member of the Order of Chartered Human Resources and Industrial Relations Advisors of Quebec. Mr. Harvey was appointed to the Mint's Board of Directors on October 21, 2003 and is the Chair of the Human Resources Committee.

Kirk MacRae

Biography
Kirk MacRae currently serves as president of R.K.M. Investments. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Prince Edward Island. From 1984 to 1989, he was a branch manager and investment executive with Midland Doherty, a national investment firm. He is currently a board member of a number of community organizations, including the Sydney Airport Authority and the Cape Breton Partnership. He resides in Sydney, Nova Scotia. Mr. MacRae was appointed to the Royal Canadian Mint's Board of Directors on January 25, 2007.

Susan Dujmovic

Biography
Susan Dujmovic is the Assistant Vice-President of Commercial Financial Services with HSBC Bank Canada. A career banker, she has held progressively senior management positions in retail, sales and branch management over the last decade. She is also involved with numerous community organizations including the Vancouver Board of Trade and the Association of Women in Finance. A resident of Burnaby, British Columbia Ms. Dujmovic holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of British. Ms. Dujmovic was appointed to the Mint's Board of Directors on September 15, 2006 and is Chair of the Audit Committee.

Claude F. Bennett

Biography
Mr. Claude F. Bennett is a former member of the Provincial Parliament of Ontario 1971-1987. He served as Minister of various portfolios including Industry & Tourism, Housing, Municipal Affairs & Housing, Tourism/Culture/Recreation, and Chairman of Cabinet. He also served as Chairman of the Ottawa MacDonald-Cartier International Airport Authority, the Ottawa Transition Board, The Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, the Ottawa Sports Hall of Fame. He has recently completed his term of four years as President of the Commonwealth Games Canada Association.
Mr. Bennett served on Ottawa City Council from 1960-1972 as Alderman, Controller and Acting Mayor. Mr. Bennett was appointed to the Mint's Board of Directors on June 27, 2007.

Carman Joynt

Biography
Mr. Carman Joynt is a former audit partner with Deloitte & Touche Chartered Accountants. This was the culmination of a career that began when Mr. Joynt graduated from Carleton University in 1966 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. He received his Chartered Accountancy designation in 1969 and became a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Ontario in 1994. He became a partner in Deloitte & Touche in 1975. Mr. Joynt has also served the public in various volunteer roles, including past chair of the Ottawa Civic Hospital Foundation and past director of the Home Hospital of Ottawa-Carleton. He is currently a Governor of Algonquin College in Ottawa.
Mr. Joynt was appointed to the Mint's Board of Directors on November 22, 2007 and is the Chair of the Ad Hoc Committee on the Future of Money.

Bonnie Staples-Lyon

Biography
Bonnie Staples-Lyon is currently the President of her own communications firm, which she founded in 1997. Previously, she was the Vice-President of Corporate Affairs & Corporate Communications for Manitoba Telecom Services. Before moving to the corporate world, she spent 10 years as a senior communications and policy adviser to the former Premier of Manitoba. A resident of Winnipeg, she studied journalism at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in Calgary, Alberta. Ms. Staples-Lyon was appointed to the Royal Canadian Mint's Board of Directors on July 30, 2008.

John K. Bell

Biography
John K. Bell is the chair of Onbelay Investment Corporation, as well as of BSM Wireless Inc. and the Cambridge Memorial Hospital. In addition, he serves on the board of directors of Newport Partners Income Fund and ATS Automation Tooling Systems. Mr. Bell has a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Western Ontario's Ivey School of Business and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario. He has longstanding experience in business, having founded his own company, Shred-Tech Limited, in 1977. He later sold the company and acquired Polymer Technologies Inc. in 1996, which he also later sold. He resides in Cambridge, Ontario. Mr. Bell was appointed to the Royal Canadian Mint's Board of Directors on May 14, 2009.

Ian E. Bennett was appointed President and CEO of the Royal Canadian Mint on June 12, 2006. Biography
Marguerite F. Nadeau, QC, is the Vice-President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, Corporate and Legal Affairs of the Royal Canadian Mint. She is responsible for providing a wide range of legal activities and services required at all levels of the corporation's operations. Ms. Nadeau guides the Officers of the corporation in conducting business within the letter and spirit of the law to protect the Mint and management from legal liabilities and thereby helping to maximize the corporation's opportunity for growth. She also guides the Officers of the corporation in order to protect the assets of the corporation and to ensure compliance with domestic and international laws and regulations.
Ms. Nadeau joined the Mint in 1984 as the corporation's Legal Counsel, after working seven years at Supply and Services Canada. Concurrently, she served as Corporate Secretary for the Crown Assets Disposal Corporation. In 1985 she took on the position of Corporate Secretary at the Mint. In 1987, Ms. Nadeau was appointed as a Member of the Copyright Appeal Board of Canada and served in this capacity for a period of two years. In 1990 she was appointed Queen's Counsel by Order in Council. In 2003 she was appointed to her current position of Vice-President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of the Mint and served as Acting President and CEO of the Mint from October 3, 2005 to June 11, 2006.

Biography
J. Marc Brûlé is Vice-President of Finance & Administration and CFO. Prior to joining the Mint in 2007, Mr. Brûlé served as the Chief Executive Officer of Energy Ottawa Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Hydro Ottawa Holding Inc., and previously held the post of chief executive officer at Dynasty Components Inc. From June 1982 until April 2000, Mr. Brûlé was a partner at KPMG Ottawa, where he provided accounting and business advice to a wide variety of organizations in Eastern Ontario.
Mr. Brûlé holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Carleton University, and earned the Chartered Accountant designation in 1975.

Beverley Lepine is Chief Operating Officer

Biography
Beverley Lepine is Chief Operating Officer. She is responsible for ensuring the profitability of the Mint's four business lines, and for overseeing all operations, from sales through production and distribution. She also has specific responsibility for Corporate Engineering and Advanced R&D. Mrs. Lepine is charged with driving the implementation of Lean Enterprise, allocating resources to deliver optimal customer value, and promoting quality and innovation.
Ms. Lepine joined the Mint in 1987 as Director of Finance. In 1996, she was promoted to Vice-President of Administration and Finance, in which capacity she oversaw construction of the Mint's $31-million plating facility at the Winnipeg plant. In 2001, she became Vice-President of Manufacturing, responsible for production, quality systems and inventory management for all business lines. She was appointed to her current post in 2003.
Prior to joining the Mint, Ms. Lepine worked for four years in the Treasury Board Secretariat of Canada's Office of the Comptroller General. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Bishop's University and a graduate diploma in public accountancy from McGill University. She earned her Chartered Accountant designation from the Quebec Institute while articling at Clarkson, Gordon & Company in Montreal.
Ms. Lepine is Chair of the Board of Trustees of Bruyère Continuing Care.

Craig Szelestowski is Vice President, Human Resources and Business Transformation

Biography
Craig Szelestowski is Vice-President, Human Resources and Lean Enterprise. He is charged with directing the Mint's HR activities-recruiting, orienting and training staff, developing incentive programs, conducting employee relations and union negotiations, and succession planning-in a way that supports the corporation's achievement of its goals. As well, he is responsible for the function that provides process-improvement support to the Mint's operations.
Mr. Szelestowski joined the Mint in 1995 as Human Resources Manager and took on his current post in 2004 as part of the corporation's succession planning program. Previously, he worked as a change-management consultant with an Ottawa-based HR consultancy.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in industrial relations from the University of Toronto and a Master's of Business Administration from the University of Ottawa, where he served for a period as a part-time professor. Mr. Szelestowski has twice been honoured with the Mint's President's Award-first in 1998, then in 2003.

Patrick Hadsipantelis is Vice-President, Marketing and Communications

Biography
Patrick Hadsipantelis is Vice-President, Marketing and Communications. He serves as the Royal Canadian Mint's chief marketing and communications strategist and ensures that marketing and communications initiatives reflect the excellence of the corporation and take full advantage of opportunities to advance the Mint's reputation as the best mint in the world.
Mr. Hadsipantelis joined the Mint in 2009 with comprehensive experience in numerous areas of marketing. Most recently as Vice-President of Marketing for the Fido Brand, he led the development of the company's new brand strategy. He also worked for several years in managing Fido's pricing, market planning, advertising, direct marketing, packaging and online communications. In previous positions with Bell Canada, Mr. Hadsipantelis marketed consumer products and services as well as established customer marketing campaigns.
He is a graduate of École des Hautes Études Commerciales (HEC) in Montreal with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.

John Moore

John Moore

Executive Director Bullion and Refinery (including Refinery Operations)
Biography
Mr. Moore joined the Royal Canadian Mint in 2002 as Manager of Retail sales. He was subsequently appointed to the position of Director of Sales at the Royal Canadian Mint. Prior to joining the Royal Canadian Mint, he developed the telecom, ISP and web hosting markets in North America for Coast Software Inc. He also occupied the position of Global Executive Director, Apparel, Accessories and Licensing for Airwair/Dr. Martens. Mr. Moore holds a Bachelor of Business Economics degree from the University of Guelph.

 

Peter J. Ho

Peter J. Ho

Executive Director of Foreign Circulation
Biography
Peter J. Ho is Executive Director of the Foreign Circulation business line. In this role, he drives the growth of the corporation, generating revenue, increasing sales and promoting the quality reputation of the Royal Canadian Mint worldwide.
Mr. Ho first joined the Mint in 1989 as Foreign Circulation Sales Manager for Asia. He then became Director of the Mint's Direct Marketing Group, overseeing the customer solutions and call center. He subsequently became Director of E-commerce, in which capacity he co-championed the creation of an e-commerce website for the Mint that would act as a revenue-generating sales tool. After working in the private sector for a period, in 2002, Mr. Ho returned to the Mint as Foreign Circulation Sales Director for Asia, and in 2003 he was named to his current post.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Ho worked as a sales representative in Asia for an agricultural engineering firm and for a livestock export company. He holds a Bachelor of Economics degree from the University of Waterloo and is a former Board Member of the Commonwealth Games Foundation.

Manon Laplante

Manon Laplante

Biography
Manon Laplante is Executive Director of the Numismatics business line.
Ms. Laplante joined the Mint in 2001 as Director of Purchasing. She then became Director of Purchasing and Materials Management, responsible for production controls, warehouse and inventory management, and capacity planning, and in 2003 was appointed to her current position. Previously, she worked on the executive team of Rolls Royce's aircraft division, developing a new power turbine generator, and prior to that, in material management and purchasing with Pratt and Whitney.
Ms. Laplante holds a Diploma in Finance from Collège de Sherbrooke. She completed civil engineering courses at Vanier College, studied accounting at l'Université du Québec à Montréal, earned certification from the Canadian Association for Production and Inventory Control (CAPIC), and completed a series of intensive business administration courses at Université de Montréal's management school, Hautes études commerciales.

Paul Lefebvre

Biography
Mr. Lefebvre joined the Mint in 1997 as Manager of Technical Services. He was then promoted to Plant Director in 2001 and to his current post in 2005. Previously, he worked for a national facility management company as business development manager, and prior to this for a mechanical engineering consulting firm. He holds a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) both from the University of Ottawa.

Greg Smith

Greg Smith

Chief Information Officer
Biography
Greg Smith is the CIO (Chief Information Officer). His responsibilities include developing the Mint's information management and technology strategies, system planning, and the provision of information systems services within the corporation. The latter includes both the on-going technical support of computing facilities and communication systems and the implementation of new technologies and applications.
Mr. Smith served as the Executive Director of Business Transformation prior to accepting his current role in 2008 and has held a number of senior executive positions. Mr. Smith has substantial experience in marketing, product development, sales, e-business and technology through related positions with a range of companies. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of New Brunswick. He was a recipient of the Mint's President's Award in 2003.

André Aubrey

Biography
André Aubrey is the Director of Finance since 2007. Mr. Aubrey re-established the internal audit function upon joining the Mint in 2004. Previously, from 1998 to 2004, M. Aubrey was Vice-President Finance and Administration for St. Joseph Print Group Inc. Between the years 2000 and 2001, he served as Interim CFO for St. Joseph Corporation, managing the due diligence process on a number of strategic acquisitions. He holds a Bachelor in Business Administration from l'Université du Québec and obtained his Chartered Accountant (CA) designation from the Québec Institute. He also holds the designation of Certified Internal Auditor (CIA). From 1984 to 1998, he held several positions with the public Accounting Firm Deloitte & Touche.
