Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games Sponsorship

The Royal Canadian Mint is the Official Supporter in the Minting of Circulation, Precious Metal and Base Metal Numismatic and Bullion Coins product and service category. We will be producing the gold, silver and bronze medals for the winning athletes of the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. We are also delivering an extensive circulation and numismatic Vancouver 2010 coin program, in addition to developing other related products to help promote the excitement and passion of the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games across Canada.

Our Winter Games Coin Program is the most extensive Olympic Games circulation coin program ever undertaken by a Mint. Learn more about our Vancouver 2010 program.

Giving back to the community

The people at the Royal Canadian Mint care about the communities they live and work in. We take pride in ensuring that our Sponsorship and Corporate Donations Programs align with our corporate values and commitments, while supporting the communities we serve.

The Mint has a long tradition of contributions to a variety of causes. In 2006-2007, we decided to focus our charitable donations on a smaller number of organizations to maximize our positive impact on the community.

When discussing how we can help, it soon became clear that nutrition programs for children and support for Canada's wildlife and nature were top priorities.

As a result, we proudly selected the Canadian Wildlife Federation and the Breakfast for Learning program as the two principal beneficiaries of the Royal Canadian Mint's charitable donations program for 2007.

About Breakfast for Learning

Breakfast for Learning is the only national, non-profit organization solely dedicated to supporting child nutrition programs in Canada. Breakfast for Learning's Nutrition Program Grants provide funds directly to eligible Canadian schools and community-based groups who wish to establish or enhance breakfast, snack or lunch programs for children and youth. To date, more than 203 million nutritious meals have been provided to Canadian children. For more information, visit: www.breakfastforlearning.ca

About the Canadian Wildlife Federation

The Canadian Wildlife Federation advocates the protection of Canada's wild species, and is Canada's largest non-profit, non-governmental conservation organization. The CWF is dedicated to fostering awareness of the natural world. Since 1962, CWF has advocated the protection of Canada's wild species and spaces. Government of Canada Workplace Charitable Campaign

The Mint also supports other government departments in fundraising initiatives benefiting large and small charities across Canada. Now an annual tradition, Mint employees demonstrate their commitment to various organizations and charities by supporting the Government of Canada Workplace Charitable Campaign (GCWCC). The GCWCC is one of the largest and most successful workplace fundraising campaigns in Canada, supporting causes associated with the United Way/Centraide.
