A must-have keepsake for history buffs and sailors
Features the Canadian Navy’s motto in morse code
A brilliant and prestigious addition to any collection
This Brilliant Silver Dollar is crafted with all the prestige of one of the Mint’s most enduring collector series. Its poignant centennial theme will inspire history buffs and military enthusiasts alike.
The reverse side of this unique commemorative coin features HMCS Sackville – this legendary ship is the last surviving corvette and a living memorial to the Canadian Navy. Its pennant number (K-181) is clearly visible on its hull, and its motto (Ready Aye Ready/Prêt Oui Prêt) in morse code surrounds the design.

"Extremely well done."
By Sailorboy from Victoria, BC on 3/22/2010 I intend to use this to commemorate the centennial of the Canadian Navy. As a history buff and serving member of the Navy I highly appreciate the particular attention to detail and all the historic references contained within. I'll be getting one for my father who's a Naval veteran.
"A Nice Addition to A Long-Running Series"
By CommemCollector from NC, USA on 1/23/2010 Another nicely designed silver dollar and a worthy addition to a series that dates back to 1935. The ship is nicely detailed and the overall design well-balanced. The surface quality of the coin I received is outstanding -- a tribute to the RCM's quality control. Recommended for naval buffs, history lovers and to those who appreciate well-executed coins!
Comments about Royal Canadian Mint Brilliant Silver Dollar - 100th Anniversary of the Canadian Navy (2010):
As a young boy, my father started me on a stamp collection, as I later did my son on a coin collection. I carried on with Canadian stamps for many years, singles, blocks, plate blocks and used singles. Finally, after many years of trying to keep up, I gave up on philately because of the enormous proliferation and cost, in time and money. The same thing is happening with Canadian coins. My son collects all values from 1 cent to silver dollars. Some dollar coins can only be purchased with sets, but the sets may already have been bought otherwise. Also, there are too many varieties of coins. Some are gold added varieties of otherwise mint coins, plus the regular issue, etc. All in all, I wonder about the fairness of forcing sales on collectors or, if unable to afford the varieties and configurations of selections, allowing gaps in their collections. I know the mint is a business, and a very good one, at that, but, for what it's worth, over selection is not fair, and much too costly, for legitimate collectors, I believe. Furthermore, I think your website is much too complicated and difficult to handle. Lastly, however, your coins are superb and a great credit to Canada, your designers and yourselves.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
