The Royal Canadian Mint is hiring an Advisor, Internal Communications & IT PMO who can thrive in a dynamic and inclusive environment.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, IT PMO, the Advisor, Internal Communications & IT PMO is responsible for providing project management, operational, and administrative support to the project teams, sponsors, and project managers. The incumbent will focus on documenting and communicating new IT service offerings, IT Project progress updates, escalations, decision requests and other details of the programs and projects within IT.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepares analysis, makes technical recommendations and offers insights which contribute to the development of wider solutions to business issues, problems or opportunities while following existing policies and precedents and is subject to managerial direction and oversight.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of the Mint’s strategic business plans and identifies ways to add value in articulating the achievement of corporate goals and objectives through IT initiatives and projects;
  • Manages the development of IT Communication materials and prepares relevant information for senior leadership levels;
  • Regularly reviews and evaluates opportunities to improve IT Communication against best practices to achieve higher maturity in IT service delivery and enhance IT customer service’s reputation;
  • Builds and maintains relationships with senior leadership within IT and Business teams/partners and key corporate PMO stakeholders, and acts as a trusted advisor on IT related communications;
  • Builds and maintains relationships with subject matter experts in all fields of Information Technology and communicates the needs and best practice advice of the subject matter experts in business language;
  • Monitors and reports on forecasts of future resource capacity and on existing resource utilization;
  • Attends IT and other Leadership meetings, representing the communications interests of the CIO, PMO, and IT Director;
  • Works in collaboration with the IT EA, organizes and maintains various meeting agendas, materials for IT leadership meetings and townhalls.


  • University degree or certificate in related area or a combination of education and relevant work experience will be considered
  • Minimum of 5 years of related business experience
  • Superior presentation, storytelling and negotiating skills
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • In depth knowledge of multiple facets of IT including IT Budgeting, IT Procurement, IT operations, Organizational change management, and analytics
  • Experience with budget management
  • Experience with data analysis
  • Extensive experience planning and leading strategic initiatives
  • Excellent attention to details
  • Bilingual (English and French) – is an asset (to be determined as per the Official Languages Act)
