Royal Canadian Mint is hiring an Analyst, Circulation Supply Chain who can thrive in a dynamic and inclusive environment. Reporting to the Manager, Supply Chain, the Analyst is focused on conducting a market scan of current and new potential suppliers, as well as industry trends to support the strategic direction of the Circulation business portfolio (Canadian and Foreign). 

The incumbent will gather information to advance the development and continuous improvement, further enhancing Supply Chain resiliency, through ESG initiatives and recommendations as well as the identification of strategic risks and opportunities for mitigation. As a Supply Chain SME, the role will support the Mint’s Digital Transformation ensuring best practices are incorporated into the migration from the current ERP system to a new cloud based platform.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Research, synthesize, and effectively communicate market information and analysis supporting decision making for senior management. This includes but is not limited to monitoring and analyzing metals market intelligence (trends/macroeconomic/geopolitical events), reporting on related industry trends and competitor pricing, strategic sourcing of base metals, new coinage materials and alliances/consolidations in the Minting industry.  Provides sound recommendations based on quantitative/qualitative observations
  • Conduct ongoing domestic/international market analysis of existing and potential metal and outsourcing suppliers to enhance RCM’s supply chain resiliency and broaden its product capability to support the strategic direction of the Circulation business lines (Canadian and Foreign)
  • Investigate, document, and measure responsible sourcing practices across existing and potential supplier base addressing linkages and alignment to the RCM’s ESG commitment. Propose Supply Chain initiatives and programs to strengthen the contribution towards the Mint’s ESG goals and targets
  • Under the Mint’s Enterprise Risk Management principles, proactively identify and monitor for market disruptions that could impact the Mint’s ability to achieve its profitability targets and/or directly impact Production Operations. Develop scenarios, models mitigation strategies and Business Continuity Plans to avoid or minimize the impacts to RCM 
  • Liaise with multiple internal/external stakeholders in the coordination and development of new coinage technologies and materials with supplier base to support or enhance various product-testing trials
  • As the Supply Chain SME, support the Mint’s Digital Transformation ensuring best practices are incorporated into the design and development of the Mint’s new cloud based ERP system (D365) and leverage technology for continuous improvement opportunities



  • University degree or certificate in related area or a combination of education and relevant work experience in supply chain, business administration, finance, or economics will be considered
  • Minimum of 5 years of related business experience
  • Advanced technical business writing, reporting, presenting with demonstrated success in communicating with stakeholders at varying levels of the organization
  • Strong research and analytical reporting capability using advanced techniques such as regression analysis, time series and modeling
  • Experienced in stakeholder relationship management
  • Understanding of economic indicators and their impacts on metal markets
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite(Excel, PowerPoint, Word) including Microsoft Dynamics ERP
  • Knowledge and experience with PowerBI, MIS, SQL and/or Tableau experience is an asset
  • Strong problem solving skills and ability to deal with challenging situations within a dynamic environment with changing needs and priorities
  • Strong communication skills
  • Bilingualism (English and French) considered an asset
