Royal Canadian Mint is hiring a Customer Experience Ambassador who can thrive in a dynamic and inclusive environment.

The incumbent is responsible to ensure a seamless flow of the day to day work activities under supervision and within the policies and procedures established by the Royal Canadian Mint, while providing informative, friendly and entertaining tours to visitors and promoting the Royal Canadian Mint through the selling of its products.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
This is an English/French bilingual position and must be staffed on an imperative basis.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • College diploma and experience in a similar function.
  • Minimum two (2) years experience in the tourism industry and/or in a retail environment.
  • Customer service and sales experience is an asset.

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of the Royal Canadian Mint, its products and its markets.
  • Guided tour and introduction techniques while greeting visitors.
  • Use of computers and able to operate cash registers and cash handling.
  • Inventory replenishing and control.

Skills and Ability:

  • Book and organize guided tours.
  • Lead guided tours in both official languages; confident with public speaking in groups up to 30 people.
  • Answer visitor inquiries and complaints professionally, find appropriate solutions and resolve these efficiently.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and competent with selling and training techniques.
  • Possess strong communication skills with positive teamwork attitude.
  • Work well under pressure and comfortable with repetitive tasks.
  • Write clearly and concisely in both official languages.
  • Demonstrate initiative and sound judgment.
  • Able to determine priorities and remain organized.
  • Must be available to work Monday through Sunday with a flexible schedule.
