The Royal Canadian Mint is hiring a Power Engineer who can thrive in a dynamic and inclusive environment.

Reporting the Manager, Technical Services, the incumbent will operate, maintain and repair production, building equipment and performs building maintenance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, schedule and monitor all building activities within the Federal, Provincial and Mint regulations
  • Operate, check and repair building services equipment and ensure maintenance logs are kept accurate
  • Repair, adjust, install and assemble building, production and grounds equipment
  • Document and maintain all records and provide information on operating data
  • Select material, parts and supplies; sourcing suppliers for completing work tasks
  • Carry out minor carpentry and general building repairs
  • Analyze and report malfunctions, suggest remedial action or improvements
  • Repair, rebuild and install pumps and process piping
  • Plan and organize activities, time as well as materials and resources required


  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Must possess a Power Engineer 4th Class with an A-Class Gas Fitter License, or a 3rd Class License
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including ability to co-operate with supervisors and colleagues and ability to foster relationships with other employees to enhance the team environment
  • Strong time management skills
  • Demonstrated skill to communicate concerns within the scope of Power Engineer
  • Demonstrated skill to troubleshoot and identify practical corrective action solutions
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset
