A promise of collaboration and peace.

O ut of the chaos and devastation of the Second World War came a new era of global cooperation. Allies in war became allies for peace as representatives from 51 nations, including Canada, signed a treaty to establish a new world body, which came into existence on October 24, 1945.

On the 75th anniversary of the Charter and the establishment of the United Nations, we celebrate Canada's role as Founding Member and to our continued commitment to world peace.

Hold on to peace.
