CCPA Notice for California Consumers

This CCPA Notice for California Consumers ("Notice") applies to California consumers as defined in the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 ("CCPA"). It provides information about how the Royal Canadian Mint (the "Mint") collects, uses and discloses personal information (as defined under the CCPA) about California consumers when they interact with us. It also describes the rights of California consumers under CCPA and how they may exercise them. For more information, please consult our website Privacy Notice.

Personal information we collect and how we use and disclose it

Collection. When a California consumer interacts with us, we may collect the following categories of personal information, which are described in more details in the "How We Collect and Use your Personal Information" of our website Privacy Notice:

  • Identifiers such as a name, postal address, unique personal identifier, online identifier, internet protocol address, email address, account name, passport number, or other similar identifiers;
  • Commercial information, such as products or services purchased, obtained, or considered, or other purchasing or consuming histories or tendencies;
  • Internet or other electronic network activity information, such as browsing history, search history, and information regarding a consumer's interaction with our website our application.
  • Inferences drawn from any of the information listed above to create a profile about a consumer reflecting the consumer's preferences;
  • Financial information used for payment, such as credit card numbers;
  • Feedback and opinions provided to the Mint or other information included in email correspondence with the Mint.

 

We may have collected these categories of personal information about California consumers in the last 12 months.

Use. We use the categories of personal information referred to above for the purposes detailed in the section "How We Collect and Use your Personal Information" of our website Privacy Notice. We may have used these categories of PI for these purposes in the last 12 months.

Sale and disclosure. We do not sell personal information for cash. However, we do use cookies and tracking technologies in partnership with third parties, as detailed in the "Use of Personal Information" section of our website Privacy Notice. We may also disclose all personal information we collect to service providers for business purposes, as further detailed in the "Use of Personal Information" section of our website Privacy Notice. We may have disclosed this personal information to service providers for business purposes in the last 12 months.

Rights of California Consumers

As a California consumer, you have the following rights under the CCPA:

Right to Know About Personal Information Collected or Disclosed. Once every 12 months, California consumers may submit a verifiable request that we disclose the following information:

  • The categories and specific pieces of personal information that we have collected about you in the last 12 months, as well as the sources from which personal information is collected, the business and commercial purposes for collecting it, the categories of third parties with whom we have shared it; and
  • The categories of personal information about you that we have disclosed for a business purpose in the last 12 months.

 

Right to Request Deletion of Personal Information. You may submit a verifiable request that we delete any personal information that we have collected about you, subject to the exceptions provided by the CCPA.

Right to Non-Discrimination for the Exercise of a Consumer's Privacy Rights. We will not, because you have exercised any of the rights detailed in this Notice, deny you any goods or services, charge different prices or rates for goods or services, or provide you with a different level or quality of goods or services.

We will only be able to process your request if we can verify your identity. We will inform you of the information required to identify you on a case-by-case basis.
