Comments about $5 Sterling Silver 3D Coin – World of Parrots: Scarlet Macaw – Mintage: 2500 (2016):

The coin itself is worth five stars. However, the case it comes in is not branded; it is a simple black leatherette case, which is boring in contrast to all the Mint cases with Mint branding. For this, the purchase lacks a star. Furthermore, the plastic encasement was ajar upon my opening of the black case it displays in. As such, my rating of this purchase falls to three stars.

Do the wings actually physically protrude from the coin, or do they give the illusion of protrusion?

                  A:

The wings physically protrude off the coin. They are a separate element that is affixed to the coin to elevate the three dimensional aspect of the bird.

It's possible you're seeing the seam between the three dimensional wing application and the portion of the parrot that is flat on the coin. The wings sit above the coin flat, so there is a slight raise between the two.

This product is produced by the Cook Islands and they did not provide a video for this coin. We do not typically get additional photos or videos done for coins we're reselling.
