Nice Display, Easy To Re Use

100x100 can take 4 x 34mm with no space between them. 2 x 40mm diagonally and 50mm work but, again, the latter tends to creep down. A smaller frame may be better for the 'creepers'.

Will a larger floating frame be able to house a NGC or PCGS slabbed coin?

Garloo

Hi Garloo, We sell several larger floating frames suitable for slabbed coins. Here's the link to our accessories page where they're listed; http://www.mint.ca/store/buy/accessories_coins-cat120008

Chad

Hello - can this floating frame be used for the 150th anniversary Toonie? Thank you.

Donnak

Hi Donnak, Yes, the 150th anniversary $2 coin ("DANCE OF THE SPIRITS") will fit in the 100mm X 100mm frame. The coin's diameter is 28mm and the display area of this frame is 70mm X 70mm.

Chad

Hi do i have to take the coins outta the clear container they come in to use your floating frames or will the frames accommodate the extra thickness.

Coin collector

Hi Coin collector, The silicone membranes of the floating frames are quite flexible and can accommodate the coin capsules. We recommend keeping coins in their capsules, but you can remove the capsules to display if you prefer.

Chad

Will this accommodate the 3D View of Canada From Space Roberta Bondar $25 coin?

Anon

Hi Anon, Yes, the 3D View of Canada From Space coin fits in this frame. The diameter of the coin is 36.07mm. The display area of this frame is 70mm X 70mm.

Chad

Chad mentioned the bezel is 15mm each side. Since the total width is 100mm the display area should be 70mm X 70mm since: 100 - (15+15) = 70mm. I would like to display a 60mm diameter coin. Is this frame too small or should I purchase the larger 130mm X 130mm version?

Robin

Hi Robin, A 60mm coin will fit in this frame, but there won't be much extra space. We would recommend purchasing the 130mm X 130mm frame instead.

Chad

I was given the $50 2016 silver Hare coin, and would like to display it. It came enclosed in a round hard-plastic container, to protect it. Is it possible to display it in one of the floating frames? How? Which size would be appropriate? PS: It's only in reading some of the Q&As that I realized that the dimensions shown on your site for the floating frames are the outside dimensions - could you please also include the Display Area dimension with the product description. Otherwise, it is very likely that some people will order one that turns out to be too small.

coin enthusiast

Hi coin enthusiast, Yes, the "$50 for $50 Fine Silver Coin - Hare (2016)" will easily fit in this frame. This coin has a diameter of 34mm.The bezel is 15mm on each side (same for all frames), so the display area for this frame is 70mm X 70mm.

Chad

Hello. Does it fit 1-oz coins?

Anderson

Hi Anderson, Yes, this frame can hold 1-oz coins. The display area of the 100mm x 100mm is 70mm x 70mm. Our 1-oz coins have diameters of 38mm or 40mm.

Chad

can a person put more than one coin in this frame? also what is the frame made of? tks

l Gold

Hi I Gold, Multiple coins can be placed in this frame providing the diameters aren't too wide. The display area of the 100mm X 100mm frame is 70mm X 70mm. So multiple coins with diameters of 38 to 40 mm each (typical diameters of our 1oz silver coins) could easily fit. All floating frames are constructed with high-quality medium-density fiberboard (MDF).

Chad

Can the floating frame hold two coins- $20.00 ones?

Magda

Hi Magda, It depends on which $20 coins you're referring to. We have $20 coins with different diameters. For example, our $20for$20 coins (I.e. TREX, Star Trek, Batman vs. Superman, etc.) have diameters of 27mm. Two of these coins could easily fit in this frame. The display area of the 100mm x 100mm floating frame is 70mm x 70mm (outer edge is 15mm on each side). Some of our other $20 coins have diameters of 40mm, which means two of them would not fit.

Chad

Will item number 145881 the Homefront Commonwealth Air Training Plan coin fit into this frame? Or can you please tell which one to order for that coin 38mm. Thank you

Tra

Hi Tra, Yes, the 38mm Homefront Commonwealth Air Training Plan coin will fit in the 100mm x 100mm frame. The outer rim of all the coin frames is 15mm (on each side), so the display area of the 100mm x 100mm is 70mm x 70mm, plenty wide for this 38mm coin. This coin would also fit in the 80mm x 80mm frame (display area is 50mm x 50mm).
