About the Design:
This coin offers a numismatic replica of the competition medals to be awarded for gold performances at the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games. Masterful engraving is enhanced by a stunning combination of reliefs, while artistry and storytelling are brought together through symbolic elements that represent both the natural world and the spirit of the Games. Three irregular shapes represent the participating nations from North America, South America, Central America and the Caribbean, and are layered in a way that resembles the steps of the medal podium. The curved nature of these shapes take their inspiration from the TORONTO 2015 logo (as seen on the top shape) and reference the open, accessible nature of the Host City. Dynamic pictograms featured on the middle shape reference the Games' official motto—United We Play!—by inspiring people to come together through sport. Unique patterns further celebrate diversity while adding an element of textural interest, including a beautifully engraved version of the mokume gane insert that adorns each medal; another crescent-shape represents water as a sustaining element for us all, with flowing lines that symbolize the rivers and oceans of the Pan American region.

The Pan Am and Parapan Am Games are held every four years, in the year preceding the Olympic and Paralympic Summer Games. They have been held twice before in Canada, in 1967 and 1999, both times in Winnipeg, Manitoba. TORONTO 2015—the "People's Games"—emphasize accessibility and the coming together of 41 countries and territories through the power of sport and culture.

Great purchase. I would buy it again for sure!

Great collector piece. I watched many of the Pan-Am events and have a little display with items such as programs and other collectibles, and this complements it perfectly. The coin is quite large which is great for viewing as you can see the detail very well. Great tribute to the Pan-Am games. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a quality piece to remember the games.

This is one of my favorite coins in my collection. It is beautiful. It has an imaginative design borrowed from the 2015-Toronto Pan-Am Games medals. The gold-plating is the icing on the cake. Holding the coin in-hand, it is easy to imagine it is an actual gold medal from the games. I am not concerned that the coin is made of copper then gilded with gold. Once it is covered in the "0.091 grams of gold" it has the visual appeal of a gold coin. There is no way for me to tell by looking at or holding the coin whether it is silver, copper or gold below the gilding. This gold-plated coin is a great reminder of the weeks in the summer of 2015 when Toronto welcomed athletes from the America's. They came from Canada's Arctic in the north to Chilean athletes in the southernmost part of South America and all parts in-between, mainland and Caribbean islands alike. I had a great time during the 2015-Toronto Pan-Am Games. I was a spectator at 4 Pan-Am events and 3 Para-Pan-Am events. I also volunteered during the Para-Pan-Am Games as a driver, transporting athletes and officials around Toronto and area. I will have this keepsake coin forever to remind me of the fun and excitement I had at the 2015-Toronto Pan-Am Games.

I was looking forward to getting all 3 at the same price. Being involved with the event and holding several athletes medals I wanted my own, but this is the start for my collection and being a part of the Para and PanAm games as an Official. The packaging is wonderful and full of quality all the way. Feel like the real thing but smaller. I gave it as a gift to myself for my hard work during the events.

Your gold products are too pricey, so please produce more gold-plated coins. It carries the allure of the gold, but not the price.
