A beautiful embodiment of the season, the delicately coloured apple blossom adds a sweet fragrance to the gentlest breeze! Spring is in full bloom on the colour-over-engraved reverse, which showcases the seasonal beauty of Canada's national apple tree: the McIntosh. You can almost hear the buzz of a honeybee while looking at the blossom-laden bough, whose pink-and-white petals never fail to entice one of nature's most industrious pollinators.

A gorgeous apple blossom coin that will brighten your day! Order today!

Special features:
  • THIRD COIN IN SERIES! Your coin is the third in the Celebration of Spring series! First two coins in the series include:
    • Cherry Blossoms (currently available only through our registered dealers)
    • Lilac Blossoms (still available!)
  • LUMINOUS PROOF FINISH! Polished to a mirror-like finish, your coin's 99.99% pure silver surface shines in the natural light, just like sunlight on a spring day!
  • PAINTED LANDSCAPE! Colour over engraving re-creates the soft pastel hues of each apple blossom, which adds a delicate-looking beauty to orchards and yards each spring.
  • NATIONAL APPLE! While the tree is inspired by Canada's national apple, the McIntosh, the reverse is a magnificent celebration of all apple varieties.
  • INCLUDES SERIALIZED CERTIFICATE! The Royal Canadian Mint certifies all of its collector coins.
  • LOW MINTAGE! Limited to 6,500 coins worldwide, the same mintage as the first coin in the series that sold out.
  • PURE SILVER! Your coin is crafted from 99.99% pure silver.
  • GST/HST EXEMPT! Your coin is GST/HST exempt.

Design:

Designed by artist Jan Poynter, your coin re-creates a dazzling springtime display by combining colour and detailed engraving against the shine of a proof finish. The apple tree in full bloom is inspired by the McIntosh variety, which was first discovered in Dundela, Ont., and is now Canada's most commonly cultivated apple. Like a botanical illustration, the blossom-laden bough below offers an enlarged view of the delicate-looking flowers nestled in the green leaves. The addition of a design flourish hints at the apple blossom's sweet scent, which floats in the spring breeze and attracts pollinators to the yellow centre of each white and pink-coloured bloom. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.

Packaging:

Your coin is encapsulated and presented in a Royal Canadian Mint-branded maroon clamshell with a black beauty box.

Memories Strong Enough to Smell!

If you've ever been in the Maritimes in the Spring, then you can almost smell the blossoms on ibis coin. Wistful and real, these trees populate the eastern seaboard everywhere in the spring and are glorious fragrant. This coin is one of the best representations I've seen and it follows that the quality would be up to RCM standards. I recommend it without reservation.

As a landscape artist, the apple trees are a beautiful subject. After a long winter, this is what I look for on my property to make spring a favorite time of year.

Chantal (Customer Service)

I purchased a wooden box with two layers of felt to put 1oz coins in it and the other layer for 1/2 oz. I was wondering if this coin was a 1/2 oz coin to fit in the 1/2 oz openings?

Monty

Hello Monty and thank you for submitting your question. This coin weighs 23.17g which is approximately a quarter of an ounce. It may be too big to insert in the opening.
