The Royal Canadian Mint (the Mint) is hiring a Manager, Talent Acquisition who can thrive in a dynamic and inclusive environment.
Reporting to the Director, Talent Management, the Manager is responsible for establishing and overseeing the strategic planning and operational requirements of recruitment, talent assessment, talent sourcing, onboarding, and candidate experience to achieve the Mint’s strategic and hiring goals. The Manager is accountable for their team’s operational leadership to ensure the seamless, efficient and effective delivery of talent acquisition, assessment and onboarding of top talent. Key collaborators are HR business partners, the Mint’s hiring managers, union, talent acquisition networks, as well as diverse partnerships, recruiting partners and agencies. The incumbent is responsible for leading a team of approximately 3 people.
Your Responsibilities:
- Manages the full cycle of talent acquisition for all non-unionized and unionized positions.
- Responsible to execute the talent acquisition needs for all senior roles at the Mint, i.e. Senior managers and up.
- Maintains and manages an active online social medial digital presence to increase visibility of the Mint’s corporate brand, promote corporate culture and compete as a top employer in Canada to continue to attract top talent.
- Manages executive search by building relationships, determining selection criteria and partnering with executive search firms.
- Liaises with Labour Relations to identify potential grievances resulting from competitions or provide background relating to grievances received, as needed and provides input during Collective Agreements negotiations regarding recruitment issues and recommended language to be used.
- Prepares and recommends policies and procedures relating to Talent Acquisition Services based on results of surveys, market trends and corporate and legislated directives, as needed.
- Develops and maintains recruiting contacts throughout the industry and within comparator groups to obtain and exchange information; oversees the development and maintenance of relationships and partnerships with universities, colleges, professional associations and community organizations to develop a pipeline and network for future talent and ad-hoc presentations.
- Provides talent acquisition statistical data as requested by Management and establishes and monitors various recruitment statistics and reporting metrics to develop reports and compare performance to targets.
Qualifications:
- University degree or equivalent in a field related to the position
- Minimum of 7 years of experience related to the position
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive management experience
- Excellent team building and leadership skills and experience
- Excellent client service skills
- Proficient computer skills and competent with Microsoft Office programs, including MSTeams
- Sound organizational, analytical, judgement and decision-making skills with proven abilities in problem solving
- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to build and maintain relationships
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Bilingualism required
- Experience in a unionized environment would be considered an asset
