Royal Canadian Mint is hiring a Manager, Winnipeg Production Operations who can thrive in a dynamic and inclusive environment.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Winnipeg Manufacturing, the Manager, Production Operations is responsible for managing the coordination of resources to ensure that work objectives are consistently met and that the department can achieve operational excellence. The Manager will provide advice, functional direction and support to incorporate new processes or initiatives into the department. The incumbent is also responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient and sustainable use of plant resources and equipment, while leading a team of approximately 5 direct reports and 130 plant personnel in our 24/5 operation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, co-ordinate, and manage supervisors in the manufacturing production area to meet production delivery requirements
- Collaboration with various departments within the organization
- Manage and communicate Health, Safety, and Environmental objectives while supporting improvement initiatives to further enhance all operational areas
- Review and analyze key performance indicator data such as Process Efficiency, Yield Effectiveness and Applied Labour, Safe Score, and Environmental requirements
- Provide input and advice during the quoting process to ensure accurate assessment of the manufacturing area capabilities
- Understand Mint policies and oversee compliance with regards to workforce management, training and development, and other organizational requirements
- Develop and present reports to the Senior Director and Executive as required to support operational, continuous improvements, and organizational agility
Requirements
- University degree in related area or equivalent job-related experience
- Minimum 7 years of related business experience
- Minimum 5 years of progressive management experience
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing related processes
- Operational experience and knowledge regarding Health and Safety in an industrial environment
- Working knowledge and ability in Microsoft office software
- High degree of competency in verbal and written communication, ability to clearly, concisely and accurately convey communications
- Able to listen and communicate effectively with employees at various levels
- Demonstrate visible, active, positive and inclusive leadership
- Strong interpersonal skills to work with other functional groups, and external parties
- Ability to make decisions with sound judgement and execute on decisions with quantifiable results
- Bilingualism preferred
