The Mint is hiring a Senior Manager, Commercial Insights & Strategic Planning who can thrive in a dynamic and inclusive environment.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Strategic planning & Business Intelligence, this role leads high-impact strategic initiatives, translating data, customer insights, market intelligence and financial analysis into actionable business strategies and clear investment decisions.

With a team of senior analysts, this position delivers advanced analytics, forecasts and integrated customer and market insights, and commercial performance measurements to identify growth opportunities, inform prioritization, support new market and product strategies, and enable enterprise-level decision making.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead Commercial Insights & Analytics. Deliver actionable customer, market, product, financial, and marketing insights to support business growth and strategic decision-making.
  • Drive Advanced Analytics & Predictive Modeling including predictive models, customer segmentation, forecasting, trend analyses, and other advanced analytical solutions to identify growth opportunities and risks.
  • Measure Commercial & Marketing Effectiveness including ROI, performance, and investment analyses across commercial and marketing programs to optimize revenue, profitability, and resource allocation.
  • Lead Market Intelligence & Research Programs. Oversee market research, brand tracking, competitive intelligence, customer feedback, and consumer insight initiatives to inform business strategy.
  • Translate Insights into Executive Recommendations. Synthesize complex data and research into clear, executive-ready recommendations that support prioritization, investment decisions, and strategic planning.
  • Drive Strategic Planning & Business Growth Initiatives. Lead strategic assessments, business cases, and growth initiatives, including new products and market expansion opportunities
  • Provide Strategic Leadership for Product & Portfolio Management. Guide portfolio and product decisions using customer demand, market research, commercial performance, financial analysis, and operational considerations.
  • Lead Pricing Strategy & Governance. Manage pricing strategy, pricing committees, and pricing decisions to balance profitability, competitiveness, customer value, and precious metal market dynamics.
  • Develop Commercial Performance Measurement Frameworks. Establish KPIs, dashboards, reporting frameworks, and performance measurement methodologies that support data-driven decision-making.
  • Advance Data & Analytics Capabilities. Drive continuous improvement of analytical tools, methodologies, reporting capabilities, and insight-generation processes across the organization.
  • Facilitate Cross-Functional Business Alignment. Partner with Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Operations, Finance, and other stakeholders to align commercial priorities, strategic initiatives, pricing, research, and performance objectives.
  • Lead and Develop High-Performing Teams. Build, mentor, and coach an analytics and insights team while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and strategic thinking.

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring on-site presence at our Ottawa location three to five days per week, depending on meeting requirements and other activities.

Education & Designation:

  • University degree in Marketing, Business, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Business Analytics, or a related field; Master’s degree is an asset

 

Experience:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in advanced analytics, market research, or customer insights, with demonstrated impact on business strategy
  • Strong experience with SQL (Oracle, MySQL) and statistical tools (e.g., R)
  • Experience developing or managing analytical, product, commercial, or performance measurement frameworks.
  • Experience supporting product strategy, customer strategy, new market opportunities, or go-to-market planning.
  • Experience managing and developing a team

 

Additional Qualifications:

  • Advanced Excel proficiency, including modeling and complex data manipulation
  • Proven ability to lead strategic analysis, business case development, market assessments, and investment recommendations.
  • Demonstrated experience evaluating marketing or commercial program performance, including ROI, effectiveness, and optimization opportunities.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence and present to senior leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional planning and stakeholder engagement in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative leader with strong business acumen, commercial judgment, and relationship management skills.
