The Royal Canadian Mint is hiring a Senior Manager, Corporate Health and Safety who can thrive in a dynamic and inclusive environment.
Reporting to the Director, Environment, Safety, Employee Health and Wellbeing, the Senior Manager is responsible for leading a team of professionals in health, safety and employee wellbeing and for the oversight of associated programs. In this role, you will lead a team responsible for the development, delivery and maintenance of health and safety policies, procedures, guidelines and directives designed to foster an environment of wellbeing across the Mint.
Your Responsibilities:
- Lead a team in both Ottawa and Winnipeg to deliver impactful corporate health and safety and employee wellbeing services such as job hazard analyses, industrial hygiene services, indoor air quality evaluations, ergonomic assessments, inspection and auditing, and other expert services.
- Foster employee engagement and build a positive work environment by guiding team members and supporting their professional growth.
- Promote teamwork and psychological safety, encouraging healthy partnerships across the organisation.
- Lead project teams to ensure the successful implementation of health and safety policies, procedures, guidelines and directives.
- Provide expert technical guidance to the Corporate Health, Safety and Wellbeing team.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that their health and safety needs are met through delivering effective programs and services.
- Oversee the training portfolio for the team to deliver health and safety training where required.
This opening is to be filled on a hybrid working arrangement, and the incumbent will be required to work from the Ottawa or Winnipeg location on an average of 3 days a week which could change based on operational requirements.
Qualifications:
Language Requirements:
- An advanced level of bilingual proficiency in both official languages (English / French) is required at the time of hire. If a bilingual candidate is not identified, other candidate language profiles may be considered in accordance with the Mint’s Staffing Policy.
Education & Designation:
- University Degree and/or an Occupational Health and Safety Professional Diploma or an acceptable combination of education and significant work experience may be considered.
- A recognized Canadian certification, accreditation or designation in Occupational Health and Safety.
Experience:
- Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience working in a health and safety and/or employee wellbeing capacity.
- Minimum seven (7) years’ experience supervising and/or leading a team of health, safety, and environmental professionals.
- Experience in program development, program implementation and training delivery.
- Experience reporting on and presenting technical information to workers, management and stakeholders at a senior level.
- Experience working in a unionized environment is considered a strong asset.

- Ability to manage the delivery of key programs and services across the organization.
- Able to lead in a fast-paced and result-driven organization.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities in a changing environment.
- Comprehensive understanding of the Canada Labour Code, Part II, regulations, standards and best practices.
