The Mint is hiring a temporary helper who can thrive in a dynamic and inclusive environment.
Reporting to the Supervisor of Operations, temporary helper is responsible for material handling duties, picking and packing of orders in shipping using scanners. Ensures shipping orders are processed properly through shipping product examination, packaging and assembly operations. Assists in the operation, set-up, adjustment of production machines and related equipment and maintenance of these machines.
Qualifications:
Language Requirements
- Proficiency in one official language (English/French) is essential.
Education
- Completed High school diploma
Experience
- Minimum of one (1) years working in a manufacturing/warehousing environment
- Ability to lift 40 pounds on a continuous basis

- Demonstrated skill in following instructions and prioritizing multiple activities and tasks
- Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and tactfully
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including cooperation and collaboration with colleagues and supervisors
- Basic computer skills to retrieve information
- Demonstrated skill in the operation of material handling and related equipment
- Ability to lift forty (40) pounds and to stand or sit for extensive periods of time throughout shift
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks throughout shift
- Ability to troubleshoot and work in a team environment
- Ability to comprehend both verbal and written instructions
- Ability to maintain a high level of housekeeping
- Detail orientated and ability to maintain a high rate of accuracy
Knowledge
- Knowledge of basic Health & Safety principles and best practices
- Knowledge of basic mechanical concepts, basic reading comprehension and mathematics skills
- Material handling in a lean manufacturing environment
