The Detour Lake mine is located within the northernmost Abitibi Greenstone Belt, in Northeastern Ontario. It is the largest gold-producing mine in Canada, with gold reserves of 19.9 million ounces. Founded in 1957, Agnico Eagle is a Canadian senior gold mining company committed to building and operating a growing, high-quality, and sustainable business. It is the largest producer of gold in Canada and the third-largest gold producer in the world.

Released in 2023, our second Single Mine bullion coin is crafted of responsibly mined Newmont Éléonore gold.
The Newmont Éléonore mine is among the largest gold mines in Quebec. It is located in the traditional Cree territory of Eeyou Istchee, in Canada’s James Bay region, where the ore is mined from the rich Roberto Deposit and processed onsite. Having first achieved commercial production in 2015, Éléonore currently produces upwards of 260,000 ounces of gold per year, and the operation is known for sustainable and responsible mining practices that leave a more positive legacy.

Our first-ever Single Mine bullion coin was issued in 2022, and is entirely composed of gold extracted by Agnico Eagle at its Meliadine Mine in the Kivalliq District in Nunavut.
The Meliadine mine is Agnico Eagle’s second mine in Canada’s Low Arctic. Located near the western shore of Hudson Bay, the mine achieved commercial production in May 2019. Since its founding in 1957, Canada-based Agnico Eagle has grown into the largest miner of Canadian gold, as well as the world’s third-largest gold producer overall. Agnico Eagle is committed to mining responsibly and contributing positively to the communities in which it operates.
