Marine folklore tells tales of menacing creatureshiding beneath ocean waves, but such mysteriesare not limited to the open sea. Scotland’s LochNess Monster, British Columbia’s Ogopogo andQuebec’s Memphré suggest numerous inland lakeshold similar secrets.
Lake Memphremagog is located about 150 km(93 mi) southeast of Montreal; a long, narrowlake that runs north-south across the border intoVermont.
