Released on 18 October 1967 and based on Rudyard Kipling's classic tale, The Jungle Book was the last animated feature Walt Disney supervised. The film tells the story of Mowgli, a man-cub raised by a family of wolves, who finds he is no longer welcome in the jungle when fearsome tiger Shere Khan threatens him. Urged to abandon the only home he has everknown, Mowgli embarks on a journey of self-discovery, guided by panther-turned-stern-mentor Bagheera and the free-spirited bear Baloo. Along the way, Mowgli encounters jungle creatures who do not exactly have his best interests at heart, including Kaa, a python, and the smooth-talking King Louie.
