Design:
Canadian artist Simon Ng has created a stylized depiction of a dog standing above a traditional Chineselatticework that incorporates a rose, one of the dog's lucky flowers. A rose also appears on the dog's chest, while onciduim and cymbidium orchids, the dog's other floral charms, fill the remainder of its silhouette. The Chinese character for dog appears to the right. Beautiful engraving captures the energy of the loyal dog personality that is always poised and ready to play—or protect.
Did you know…
- The Year of the Dog occurs every 12 years—1922, 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006—and now, 2018. However, the Chinese New Year shifts annually due to the Spring Festival, and this affects the zodiac for people born in January and February. For example, the Year of the Dog begins on February 16, 2018 and ends on February 4, 2019.
- Dog people generally enjoy better health due to their active nature and happy disposition.
- Dog people thrive in careers where they can serve humanity (asa nurse, lawyer, counsellor, scientist).
- Famous Dog personalities include Cher, Winston Churchill, Jane Fonda, Prince William, Connie Chung, ElvisPresley, Terry Fox, the Dionne Quintuplets and Eugene Levy.
- The amiable dog is happiest with horse, rabbitand tiger, but it doesn't understand rooster, and will never get along with sheep or overconfident dragon.
