With its mix of colour and engraving, your coin celebratesStar Trek’s spirit and its vision of space travel in the future. The titular starship from Star Trek: Enterprise is set against a colourful, glow-in-the-dark nebula that infuses the scene with energy and motion. While an overhead view of the Enterprise NX-01allows for a glimpse of its warpnacelles, the saucer hull is more prominently featured—including the navigational deflector along its front edge. This deflector is a predecessor to the two incorporated in the engraved frame. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.

• Enterprise NX-01 was manned by a largely human complement of just 83 men and women. Sub-commander T’Pol (a Vulcan) and Dr. Phlox (a Denobulan) were the only two alien crewmembers onboard.
• The NX-01 did not have a tractor beam; instead, a magneticgrappler was fired from the underside of the saucerand could latch onto a ship to hold it in place.
• Unlike other Starfleet starships that followed, NX-01’s deflector was located at the front of the saucer section. Its purpose was to deflect particles that would otherwise damage the ship while travellingat warp speeds.
• A mirror universe version of the ship was introduced in the Star Trek: Enterprise episode, In a Mirror, Darkly. To defend the Terran Empire and enforce humanity’s rule, the militaristic I.S.S. Enterprise NX-01 was equipped with a Suliban cloaking device, an array of phaser and photon weapons, and a torturous agony booth.
