Features

History on both sides
For added historical authenticity, your coin features the 1870 reverse and obverse designs by Royal Mint engraver Leonard C. Wyon, including the laureate effigy of Queen Victoria from the 5- and 10-cent coins of that era.

Double-dated reverse
The reverse is a near-exact reproduction of the original design. The double dates ("1870 – 2020") commemorating the 150th anniversary of Canada's first national coinage are the only modern additions to a classic image.

Obverse

Double dated ("1870 – 2020") to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Canada's first national coinage, the reverse is a reproduction of Leonard C. Wyon's crossed maple boughs design surmounted by St. Edward's Crown, as seen on the four denominations (5, 10, 25 and 50 cents) of coins issued by the Dominion of Canada in 1870. The obverse features the "laureate" effigy of Queen Victoria by Leonard C. Wyon, as it appeared on the historic 5-cent and 10-cent coins.
