Special features
- One of the first. The Royal Canadian Mint is recognized worldwide for its strict quality controls, and for producing coins of consistent weight and utmost purity. First Strikes have the added distinction of being minted on the first days of production—they’re highly coveted.
- Special privy mark. Each Treasured Maple Leaf helps you mark any occasion through its special-themed privy mark: a dragon for the Year of the Dragon (2024), fireworks that say “Congratulations,” and a polar bear for any/all occasions.
- Available one month early. These products are available for sale weeks ahead of the release of regular core bullion in the market, making these Premium Bullion in special packaging extra special.
- Specially handled during manufacturing. Each Premium Bullion product has been specially handled throughout the manufacturing process, and was carefully encapsulated and placed in stylish packaging. While our bullion products are typically available to purchase from authorized dealers, these specially handled coins in card packaging are now available to you directly from the Mint, Canada Post and authorized dealers.
- New for 2024. Each Treasured Maple Leaf comes in eye-catching packaging that has been redesigned for easier handling. On the back of the card, an easy-to-scan QR code allows quick access to an informative website that welcomes the reader to the world of bullion.
- Security features. All Silver Maple Leaf bullion coins include cutting-edge security features, such as radial lines, and our exclusive MINTSHIELD™ surface protection.
- Limited mintage. Treasured Silver Maple Leaf bullion coins have a limited mintage of 25,000 coins worldwide.
- Also available in gold. For a gift of gold, consider the Treasured Gold Maple Leaf First Strikes bullion coin with privy mark, available in 99.99% pure gold.
- No GST/HST.

Price is subject to change without notice. Represents minimum guaranteed weight. The Royal Canadian Mint reserves the right to refuse or limit orders, and to change its prices and product offerings without notice if, for any reason, it should be found necessary to do so. The Mint also reserves the right to impose purchase quantity limits on certain items. Once an order is placed, it cannot be cancelled. Premium Bullion Products in special packaging are final sale (they cannot be returned or exchanged, and are not eligible for refund for any reason). Exceptionally, in the event of a damaged, defective or incorrect product purchased through the Mint online (whether by mobile app or on mint.ca) or via the call centre, you may contact the Mint’s Customer Service Solutions Centre within 14 calendar days after shipment to request an exchange for the same product originally purchased (subject to product availability), where the Mint will, at its discretion, evaluate exchange requests on a case-by-case basis.
