We remember…

There had never been a conflict like it—and most hoped there would never be another. A century after the First World War came to an end, Canada remembers the Armistice of 1918 as the culmination of four years of exceptional valour and sacrifice that stretched from the Ypres Salient to Vimy Ridge, and from Passchendaele to Mons, where the ceasefire marked the end of the hostilities and the beginning of a young nation’s desire to never forget.

Your pure silver coin commemorates the centennial of the Armistice of 1918. Order today.

Special features:
  • A SOLEMN CENTENARY: Our special-issue 2018 $10 Armistice pure silver coin honours the 100th anniversary of the ceasefire that brought an end to the First World War.
  • A SYMBOL OF REMEMBRANCE: The pairing of a contemplative soldier and the poppy on your coin’s design serves as a collectible tribute to our combatants of the First World War, and a pledge to never forget.
  • EASY TO DISPLAY: Your encapsulated coin is packaged in a custom folder that allows you to easily display and safely store your special keepsake.
  • 1/2 OUNCE PURE SILVER: Your coin is crafted from 1/2 ounce of 99.99% pure silver.

Design:

Designed by Canadian artist Laurie McGaw, your coin features a soldier with his head bowed as if in silent prayer for his lost mates, and the poppy as a symbol of remembrance. This special issue coin is an expression of a nation’s gratitude for peace—a memento to honour the legacy of the combatants whose contributions we collectively remember every November 11. At the end of the First World War, the soldier is war weary and contemplative; his helmet is off, he holds his rifle upright; he is grateful that he is alive but his head is bowed, as if in silent prayer for his lost mates. The reverse also includes the engraved text “FINE SILVER 9999 ARGENT PUR” and “CANADA 2018.” The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.

Packaging:

Your encapsulated coin is packaged in a custom folder that allows you to easily display and safely store your special keepsake.

In recognition of sacrifices that were made for our existence today, I find the packaging and presentation to be poor, but a great coin and a bargain

Military themed coins are special to me. They represent the sacrifice our men and women in the Armed Forces have paid, and continue to do, for our freedom. They are a peek into our history and their stories are rich in honour.
