In 2019, for the first time, the iconic Lady Peace and Lady Liberty appear together on an intricately engraved limited-edition medal that celebrates enduring values, steadfast spirit and the shared vision of two neighboring nations—Canada and the United States.

Special features:

  • This medal is a unique collaboration between, Modern Coin Mart and the Royal Canadian Mint, celebrating the shared history and common, guiding values of Canada and the United States.
  • Designed by renowned artists Susan Taylor and John Mercanti, each medal is accompanied by a numbered certificate of authenticity. The medal is available in limited mintage worldwide, exclusively from and Modern Coin Mart.
  • The engraving present never-before-seen visions of peace and liberty, bold, detailed and brought to life in classical style with modern flair.

Esteemed former Royal Canadian Mint Senior Engraver, Susan Taylor, depicts Lady Peace in profile on the medal's reverse: a young woman imbued with quiet strength and radiant hope, inspired by ancient Greek statuary and the Greek notion of dēmokratia (democracy).

Taylor's Lady Peace wears a crown of maple leaves and olive branches, representing the core Canadian values of peace, order and good government, and is ringed by the words pax (peace) and A Mari Usque Ad Mare—"From Sea to Sea"—Canada's official motto.

Famed former U.S. Mint Chief Engraver John Mercanti sets freedom in motion with his fresh interpretation of Lady Liberty on the medal's obverse face.

Striding into the future with a sword in her right hand, she vanquishes a pair of vipers that symbolize the forces of evil in the world. In her left hand she holds aloft the torch for which she is renowned, its laurel-leaf wrapping an emblem of victory over oppression.

The original motto of the United States, E pluribus unum—"Out of Many, One"—and the Latin word libertas (liberty) encircle Mercanti's stylized figure.
