First Nations People across Canada have long marvelled at the eagle’s unique vision and many groups have selected it to represent “love,” one of the Seven Sacred Teachings for a full and happy life. Love is the key and the reason for life. But it’s more than that special connection between two people. It’s also the care and affection one feels for oneself. Self-love propels people towards their destiny; it inspires them to be the best they can be.

Open your heart and soar like an eagle! When you love life, you will reach unimaginable heights—and discover unbound appreciation and connection with every living thing.

Love is one of the Seven Sacred Teachings that honour the traditional concepts of respect and sharing that are the cornerstones of Aboriginal life. Nice But a But Too Much Gold

I was excited by this coin when I saw it in the monthly RCM advertising flyer. I signed up for the subscription. I love larger coins, so the 40mm diameter was a plus for me. I was also looking forward to having the attractive display box (even though it was not made of wood) and having all seven coins displayed in it. But I was not 100% pleased with the first coin. I did like the larger size and that the rim and the Queen's portrait on the obverse were gold plated. However, I wasn't pleased with the gold plating on the reverse. I think the coin would have been much more attractive if only the eagle and human figure were gold plated, while the background was left as plain silver. (Does calling silver "plain" indicate that I am spoiled?). This would have made the Eagle and human pop out from the coin to a much greater degree. Also, the other coins would have been more distinct since each will have a different animal. It would have been a series of seven unique coins with a common design theme. As they are, with each and every coin having a gold plated circle, I think they would have looked too similar. I was also concerned about the price. Although $109.95 is slightly less expensive then most other gold-plated RCM coins, buying the subscription would have meant paying that amount each and every month for the next six months. I was concerned about being able to do so. Due to those objections, I decided to return the coin and cancel my subscription. I might have kept the first coin if it had come in clamshell holder, but you have heard that complaint before. I worry about subscribing to expensive coin series. I do not like not knowing when my credit card will be charged. I would appreciate receiving an email notice two days before my credit card will be charged. This would allow me to make a payment on my card, if necessary. Knowing that I will receive advance notice (even just two days) would also ease my mind and make me more likely to sign up for RCM subscriptions - especially for pricier ones like this series.

Sold-Out --- No Wonder !!

No wonder this coin sold out so quickly. It is just gorgeous!! I love it when the RCM have the gold gilded on BOTH sides and the dual date makes it even look sharper. This one is winner !!! Good RCM !!

I was at the post office today & I saw this coin on display. This large 1oz piece of art just jumped out at me. (WOW) This coin is amazing. The cost is high & the subscription is monthly with no breaks in between. That is the only thing that keeps me from buying this series. Wish it was like the great lake series where it comes out 1 every few months. The low mintage is a plus too. I do recommend this set to anybody. Talking about teachings, my collection has been teaching my childred about canadian history, geogerphy, math, reading, the value of money, about the animals/insects/flowers/plants/trees & the royal history. These are great teachings as well. THANK YOU RCM & everyone involved in bringing these coin to us.

Love the packaging

the presentation box is nice for gift giving heard that the subscription orders are not packaged well!

Saw the coin in person. Had to have it.

Can't wait to collect the entire 7 coin series. Once you see these coins in your hands, you will want to buy these. The real stunner with this coin is the gold plating. Very sharp looking coin.

It's a Beaut!

The different tones and finishes make this a beautiful coin to look at.
