The Royal Canadian Mint is hiring a Manager, Accounts Payable who can thrive in a dynamic and inclusive environment.
Reporting to the Director, Finance, the Manager, Accounts Payable oversees the daily processing of vendor and employee invoices and ensures prompt and accurate payments are made. The incumbent is responsible for leading a team of approximately 5 people.
Your Responsibilities:
- Oversees routine department activities, such as entering invoices in the Mint’s ERP system for payment, to ensure that they are completed accurately and on time.
- Accountable for the administration and maintenance of ChromeRiver, the Mint’s travel and expense claim system.
- Prepares monthly, quarterly, yearly financial disclosure requirements including the preparation of account reconciliations, financial statement note disclosure and various financial decks/dashboards.
- Manages a group of employee towards the achievement of planned objectives in an efficient and effective manner; has opportunities to manage costs and potentially contribute to revenue development opportunities. This includes performance and attendance management, recruitment and the administration of the collective agreement if applicable.
- Promotes and monitors the effective design and operation of internal controls over financial reporting. Collaborates with Mint resources for the testing and remediation of internal controls.
Qualifications:
- University degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related area
- Professional accounting designation is an asset
- Minimum of 5-7 years of related business experience and progressive management experience
- Strong accounting knowledge, including IFRS
- Excellent communications skills - both verbal and written to present complex financial data in an organized, concise manner.
- Team player, with strong work ethic and organizational skills to work independently as well.
- Bilingualism (English/French) preferred
