The Royal Canadian Mint is hiring a Manager, Personnel Screening and Investigations who can thrive in a dynamic and inclusive environment.

Reporting to the Chief Security Officer (CSO), you will be responsible for managing a team tasked with the development, implementation, monitoring and auditing of policies and procedures required to establish an effective investigation, intelligence and risk assessment program. In this role, you will identify, promote and enforce key security initiatives aimed at ensuring the organization recognizes and adapts to the ever-evolving security risk landscape. You will have a fundamental responsibility for the protection of the Royal Canadian Mint’s people, property and assets as well as our customer’s property and assets while they are present in our facility.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring and auditing the policies and procedures required to establish an effective investigation, intelligence and risk assessment program.
  • Oversee all investigations conducted by Protective Services, conduct analysis on results and make recommendations to senior management when applicable.
  • Responsible to investigate all major incidents (theft, fraud etc.) and resolve, report and make recommendations to senior management accordingly.
  • Responsible for the implementation of measures to mitigate risks uncovered by investigation or analysis of intelligence, respond to threat risk assessment results by budgeting and managing the implementation of technology and procedures to secure corporate assets.
  • Manage a capital plan and oversees all security projects ensuring on time and on budget delivery of services.
  • Responsible to create an international travel security program and ensure employees travelling are doing so safely with all risks evaluated.
  • Maintains partnerships with outside intelligence, law enforcement and private sector agencies to maximize the RCM’s intelligence gathering.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience developing, implementing, monitoring and auditing the policies and procedures required to establish an effective Investigation, Intelligence and risk assessment program.
  • An exceptional people leader with at least 5 years of progressive management and or leadership experience.
  • Ability to engage with a wide variety of stakeholders and build meaningful mutually benefiting relationships.
  • Knowledge of security standards, tools, technologies and regulations with respect to screening and investigations activities.
  • Exceptional communication skills with full bilingual proficiency in both official languages (English and French).
  • University degree or equivalent in a field related to the position or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.
