About the Design:

The reverse design by Canadian artist Stéphanie Gauvin features an artistic rendering of Tower Peak, nestled in Mount Assiniboine Provincial Park. Here, masterful engraving recreates the artist's brush strokes. As the reverse design's central point of interest, the snow-covered edges of Tower Peak rise up from the sub-alpine meadow in the foreground, which is lined with tall spruces.

Did you know...
  • Urged by the Alpine Club of Canada, the province of British Columbia reserved 5,120 hectares to create the Mount Assiniboine Provincial Park in 1922.
  • In 1973, the park expanded to 39,050 hectares—roughly seven times its original size!
  • At 2,850 metres, Tower Peak is one of the park's many peaks and is a favourite for climbers.

Your coin is encapsulated and presented in a Royal Canadian Mint-branded maroon clamshell with a black beauty box.

Surprised by size

I bought this coin for my sister as a Christmas present. She loves art and I knew she would appreciate the detailed design and delicate colours. I was surprised by how big it was. I was hoping she would be able to wear it as a necklace, but I think it would be better suited displayed on her desk as she's drawing or painting!

Can you tell me what the other three coins will depict? The first one is nice but art is a fickle subject. I'd like to know what the whole set looks like before deciding to purchase, or not.
