WOW! A multi-frame hologram on your 2 oz. coin shows a complete wing motion! Order today!

With the flap of its mighty wings, the golden eagle gracefully takes to the skies! This large raptor can reach flight speeds of more than 120 km/h, aided by finger-like flight feathers that reach into the wind for added lift and stability. But, this golden coloured bird can also cleverly conserve its energy by flying into thermals, where the warm updraft allows it to stay aloft for hours by simply gliding.

Design:

The reverse image by Pierre Leduc steps into the mountains of western Canada, where the golden eagle (Aquila chrysaetos) is most commonly found. A selectively coloured eagle flies on broad wings in the foreground, where the three-quarter view allows the careful study of its distinctive, finger-like flight feathers. Two additional golden eagles fly across the sky on a separate scene in the background, where the embedded multi-frame hologram re-creates their flight movements. The reverse also includes the word "CANADA" and the year "2019". The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.

Packaging:

Your coin is encapsulated and presented in a Royal Canadian Mint-branded maroon clamshell with a black beauty box.
