A MINT FIRST! Gold coin featuring 29 Canadian diamonds and large AAA cabochon emerald! Order today!

On April 21, 2016, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Queen of Canada, will mark her 90th birthday. In celebration of this milestone event, the Royal Canadian Mint has created an outstanding 99.99% pure gold coin that pays tribute to our Queen with a truly unique design that encompasses rare and elegant symbolism.

This is the first gold coin ever issued by the Royal Canadian Mint that bears multiple precious stones, a breathtaking work of art featuring a genuine emerald and 29 Canadian diamonds, which are the Queen's birthstone. It is so appropriate that the coin contains a total 0.90 carats of this precious stone in honour of Her Majesty's 90th birthday.

Strategically placed at the heart of the coin, the large AAA cabochon emerald is an iconic gemstone for 90th birthdays/anniversaries. For hundreds of years, Cambridge emeralds have been an integral part of various pieces of Royal jewellery, including the Vladimir Tiara. Indeed, it is this particular diadem of diamond circles and emerald centres that has served as an inspiration for the design of this coin that is certain to become a treasured possession of collectors the world over.

An opulent keepsake to mark the historic 90th birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Order today!

Design:

Inspired by design elements from the Vladimir Tiara that was fashioned from the famous Cambridge Emeralds, Royal Canadian Mint engravers worked in close collaboration with renowned jeweller Steve Thompson (of Thompson S.D. Jewellers Ltd.) in order to incorporate precious stones into the minting process. The result is a rare and meticulously crafted gemstone coin that echoes the tiara's diamond circles and emerald centres. The tiara's iconic circular design is further expressed in the delicately engraved motif that forms the coin's outer ring—a total 90 circles to honour The Queen on her 90th birthday; a historic celebration that is also highlighted in the coin's unique dual date (1926-2016).

Your coin is encapsulated and presented in a Royal Canadian Mint-branded wooden box with a graphic beauty box.
