EXQUISITE! Features 28 diamonds and four sapphires—32 gemstones in all! Order today!

Beyond the dazzling allure of precious stones, the regal headpieces worn by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II are priceless pieces of history. Our third tiara-themed tribute is based on one of the more modern additions to the Royal collection: a modern sapphire tiara commissioned in 1963. Twenty-eight diamonds sparkle like snow against the gold field as they surround four indigo-coloured sapphires. The arrangement resembles the central design element from Her Majesty’s tiara, which was designed to complement the Victorian Sapphire Suite—a wedding gift from King George VI.

THE CROWNING GLORY! A bejewelled tribute to a sapphire-and-diamond headpiece. Order today!

Special Features:
  • FEATURES 28 CANADIAN DIAMONDS! Twenty-eight diamonds re-create a key design element from Her Majesty’s sapphire tiara.
  • INCLUDES FOUR BEAUTIFUL SAPPHIRE PIECES! Like the tiara itself, your coin’s four sapphire pieces add a captivating indigo colour that instantly draws the eye.
  • BASED ON A MODERN ADDITION! The inspiration for this design is one of the more modern additions to Her Majesty’s personal jewelry collection. The contemporary-styled tiara was made at Her Majesty’s request, to complement a wedding gift from King George VI.
  • INTRICATELY ENGRAVED! On both sides of the gemstone arrangement, an elaborately engraved flourish alludes to the intricate nature of the original tiara.
  • VERY LOW MINTAGE! Only 175 coins will be made worldwide.

Your coin re-creates the central design element of the modern sapphire tiara worn by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. It features 28 diamonds that surround four sapphire pieces. This arrangement of precious stones is flanked by two engraved elements that highlight the intricacy of the tiara design.

The Sapphire Tiara:

Since its creation in 1963, Her Majesty’s sapphire tiara has been occasionally referred to as the Victorian Sapphire Tiara or the George VI Sapphire Tiara—a reference to the Victorian-era sapphire pieces given to Her Majesty as a wedding gift in 1947. The Sapphire Suite originally consisted of a sapphire-and-diamond necklace and pendant earrings that are among Her Majesty’s favourite sapphire jewels. The addition of this tiara helped round out the assembled parure; it was created from a 19th-century sapphire necklace that once belonged to Princess Louise of Belgium (1858-1924).

Did you know…

Her Majesty has a long association with sapphires, from the Prince Albert sapphire brooch to the George VI Victorian suite that inspired this tiara. In fact, Her Majesty wore the sapphire parure (without the tiara) in an official portrait commemorating the Sapphire Jubilee in 2017. And in 2017, Her Majesty was presented with a special gift from Canada: a sapphire brooch to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Confederation.

Your coin is encapsulated and presented in a Royal Canadian Mint-branded wooden box with a black beauty box.
