Royal Canadian Mint celebrates Canadian roots of world-famous superheroes Deadpool and Wolverine on gold and silver collectibles

OTTAWA, ONTARIO, October 6, 2026 – Before Wade Wilson traded quips for katanas and James Howlett became Marvel’s Wolverine, both were born on Canadian soil: Wade in Saskatchewan, and James in Alberta. Marvel’s Deadpool and Wolverine eventually shared the big screen in the 2024 blockbuster Marvel Studios’ Deadpool & Wolverine, a union that is now captured on a 1/4 oz collectible (also known as a round) of 99.99% pure gold, expertly struck by the Royal Canadian Mint and offered to fans and coin collectors alike. This precious gold collectible, offered by Agoro, a global creator of officially licensed, precious metal collectibles, is also accompanied by silver collectibles individually featuring Deadpool and Wolverine.

“The Mint is always looking for creative ways to showcase Canadian identity and express our national pride, so we were delighted to partner with Agoro to shine a light on the distinctly Canadian roots of Deadpool and Wolverine,” said Tom Froggatt, Chief Commercial Officer of the Royal Canadian Mint. “The Mint is proud to have applied its skill and know-how to striking precious metal collectibles that stand out as much for their manufacturing excellence as their visual and thematic appeal.”

Designed by Agoro, the 1/4 oz 99.99% pure gold collectible features Deadpool and Wolverine engraved opposite each other in frosted relief on a matte proof field. Limited to a mintage of only 1,500, this collectible is presented in a custom-printed tray-and-lid box, secured behind a hologram authenticity sticker. This collectible also sits in a clear acrylic frame with gold- coloured magnets.

Also offered are solo tributes to our Canadian-born antiheroes, crafted of one ounce of 99.99% fine silver, with individual mintages of 10,000 each. Agoro’s Deadpool design features a brightly coloured engraving of the self-loving character in a classic pose, pointing to himself during one of his many monologues. The Wolverine design also features the iconic character in vivid colour, with his trademark claws ready for action, each of their portraits stand before a detailed engraving of a maple leaf, symbolic of their birthplace.

The obverses of each of these collectibles feature a colour-enhanced engraving of each character’s gloved hand, framed by the words 'Time to give the people what they came for', a memorable line from their unforgettable movie.  These products are also packaged in custom tray-and-lid box, with a hologram authenticity sticker.  The boxes are finished in Deadpool red and feature an enlarged colour print of each character, as they appear on the collectibles.

These new collectibles may be ordered by contacting the Mint at 1-800-267-1871 in Canada, 1-800-268-6468 in the US, or at www.mint.ca. As of October 6, they will also be available at the Royal Canadian Mint's boutiques in Ottawa and Winnipeg and the Mint’s network of dealers and distributors.
