The Mint is hiring an Analyst, Responsible Sourcing (Precious Metals) who can thrive in a dynamic and inclusive environment.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Compliance, the Analyst, Responsible Sourcing Precious Metals is responsible for the day-to-day due diligence supply chain analysis of the Mint’s refining customers, . and assist with annual completion of the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) annual audit completion for the Mint’s Good Delivery Certification. and due diligence activities throughout the supply chain for the Mint’s refining customers. The Analyst will be expected to assist in the ongoing program development to the Responsible Metals Program including compliance with the amended LBMA Gold Guidance which is expected in 2026.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate and assist in the completion of the LBMA Good Delivery annual audit
- Complete due diligence and analyze risk for the Mint’s refining clients
- Analyze due diligence and screening data to identify risk and mitigations
- Undertake enhance due diligence activities as needed
- Monitor developments in the responsible sourcing space of precious metals and participate in program enhancements.
This opening is to be filled on a hybrid working arrangement, and the incumbent will be required to work from the Ottawa location generally on an average of a few days a month which could change based on operational requirements.
Requirements
Language Requirements:
- English proficiency is essential. Bilingual (English and French) is an asset
Education & Designation:
- University degree or certificate in related area or a combination of education and relevant work experience will be considered.
- Accounting designation or internal controls background
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years in ESG, mining or supply chain experience
- Experience coordinating audits
Additional Qualifications
- Data management skills
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Strong organizational skills and highly analytical
- Ability to analyze data sets
- Knowledge of internal controls and/or ISO
- Willingness to undertake occasional travel
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to deal with challenging situations within a dynamic environment with changing needs and priorities
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge of sourcing of precious metals and the LBMA guidances
- Accounting designation strongly preferred
