The Mint is hiring a Customer Experience Ambassador who can thrive in a dynamic and inclusive environment.
Reporting to the Manager, Winnipeg Retail & Tour Operations, the Customer Experience Ambassador will be responsible for ensuring the seamless flow of day-to-day work activities under supervision and within the policies and procedures established by the Royal Canadian Mint. The incumbent will also provide informative, friendly and entertaining tours to visitors and promote the Royal Canadian Mint through the sale of its products.
Requirements
Languages
- Bilingualism (English/French) is required
Education
- College and/or University Diploma/Degree in Tourism or Hospitality preferred or a combination of education and relevant work experience
Experience
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a tour guide and/or in a retail environment
- Experience in customer service and sales is an asset

- Ability to book and organize tours and determine priorities
- Ability to apply sales techniques to analyze visitor inquiries and complaints and find solutions
- Communicate with supervisors, colleagues and deal with visitors in an efficient manner
- Work under pressure and carry on repetitive tasks
- Write clearly and concisely in both official languages
- Effectively and efficiently use a computerized system
- Work within a team
- Demonstrated initiative and judgment
- Excellent interpersonal skills; above average public speaking skills
- Good organizational skills
- Good computer skills
Knowledge
- Knowledge of the Royal Canadian Mint, its products, its markets
- Knowledge of guided tour techniques and of computers
- Knowledge in the operation of cash registers and handle cash
- Knowledge of inventory replenishing and control, and introduction techniques while greeting visitors, selling and training techniques
The retail boutique and tours operate 7 days a week and employees must be prepared to work both weekends and holidays as required. Ambassador will be scheduled based on operational requirements and expected to be available for the scheduled hours.
