The Mint is hiring a Sales Representative, Foreign Circulation who can thrive in a dynamic and inclusive environment. Reporting to the Managing Director of Sales, Foreign Circulation, the Sales Representative is an individual with strong commitment to customer satisfaction. Under direction, the incumbent will contribute to sales efforts and support implementation of strategies to achieve sales targets. The candidate will support sales managers in identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with potential clients, and expanding Royal Canadian Mint presence in international markets. The Sales Representative must be agile and able to work within an environment where priorities change very quickly, while customer satisfaction remains the primary focus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Undertake specific assignments or tasks under guidance or within the framework of defined processes or procedures.
- Use standard techniques to provide specialist support and to analyze and interpret information and data.
- Prepare analysis, make technical recommendations, and offer insights which contribute to the development of wider solutions to business issues, problems, or opportunities while following existing policies and precedents and is subject to managerial direction and oversight.
- May participate as part of a team to implement projects and provide technical leadership to junior colleagues.
- Operate within a 3- to 6-month time frame and set own priorities in alignment with short-term objectives.
- Support in identifying and qualifying new sales opportunities.
- Conduct in-depth market research to identify customer trends, competition, and market conditions in different regions.
- Work proactively to assist in the preparation of offers and customized customer solutions and in response to requests from current and potential customers.
- Track external and internal customers’ requests to ensure timely responses are delivered.
- Travel to international locations, as required, for client meetings and industry events, maintaining a poised and businesslike demeanor, and developing relationships with contacts from Central Banks, government departments, Embassies, and the currency and minting industries.
- Collaborate with the Supply Chain team, Winnipeg Operations and other internal stakeholders to manage internal processes and ensure that all deadlines are met.
- Host international delegations in Ottawa and Winnipeg.
- Support as an internal point of contact throughout the RFP process.
- Understand and communicate the unique selling points of foreign circulation coins to diverse audiences. Support in the preparation of presentations and other commercial materials.
- Contribute to sales efforts with current and potential customers in order to achieve sales targets and meet KPIs.
- Contribute to pipeline development, forecasting, optimizing operational capacity and other sales reporting activities.
Requirements
You may be eligible for a hybrid working arrangement that would require you to work an average of (1) one days a week at the Ottawa location. This could change based on operational requirements.
This selection process may also qualify you for other positions with similar requirements and qualifications.

Languages Requirements:
- English language skills is essential; French and additional language(s) would be an asset.
Education & Designation:
- University Degree, concentration in Business or International Trade preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of related business experience, with a minimum of 1 year in Sales.
- Strong understanding of international cultural nuances
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently
- Willingness to travel internationally, as needed
Additional Qualifications:
- Very diplomatic and capable of managing delicate situations with officials from foreign governments.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Impeccable integrity and ethics. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, with strong skills in presentation and chart development
- Knowledge of circulation coinage, international procurement processes, and crown corporation protocol is considered a strong asset.
